so i took off my emblems just now.. but there is almost all of the adhesive stuck on the car still.. what exactly is the best method to remove this crap??

 

Tar and Bug Remover...

 

Try googone.

 

heat it up some more and some adhesive remover... not too hot though. if its on a plastic part, you can melt the plastic, but on a metal part, you should be ok to heat it up.

 

should i use a sponge or rag or what? ughh i did this on the TC i used to have.. but the emblem came right off and left very very little adhesive behind.

 

i just warmed it up with a blow dryer and peeled it off

 

as stated, just heat it mindly, and roll the adheasive off with your thumbs, goo gone or rubbing alcholol will remove any residual residue.
if its going to be over 85 degrees where you are any time soon, wait for a warm day - no hair dryer needed.

 

so i grabbed a hair dryer, got an extension cord.. and started to walk outside.. only to find out it was raining. so i put that stuff back lol. hopped in the car and went down to lowes and picked up a can of goo gone extreme. i got back home and started going at it, it took almost 45 minutes of continuous scrubbing and almost half of the spray.. but it came out great. man that stuff really works.

 

yeah, hahaha, i saw a chick driving a mustang that was debadged, but i knew it was a GT since the glue that was holding on the badge was still there!

 

lol off topic but.. i want to get a new shelby mustang and put the v6 bumpers and rear emblems on it.. and put a set of flowmasters.. but run one pipe out of the back (how the v6 only has one pipe) and cut one halfway and have the tip downfacing.. so everyone thinks its a v6. it would be fun to see the look on a gt owners face when you leave him in the dust.

my old mercury sable had basically emblems of glue haha.. you could see it said mercury sable written in glue. but i didnt take them off.. they came off from the amount of bass the car had ahh i miss that car.

 

70% isopropyl alcohol and meguiar's scratch x for all the stuff after the glue

 

i used 3m adhesive remover to take that stuff off when i pulled off my emblems.

 

Gotta be careful with some of those adhesives cause they can take the clear coat off the car, I think googone is pretty safe tho as long as you don't leave it on for long. I prefer the hairdryer method.

 

Goo Gone is paint safe. They also make it in a gel now, so you can control where it goes a bit better.

Even so, make sure you wash it down when you're finished.

 

Im use WD-40 all the time for mine.
