Default Wrecks of the Weird

Ran over a box spring on I264, headed from Virginia Beach. Been about 2 weeks now. $1300 to fix the cosmetics of the car. Here's what's kickin' my butt right now. I got under the car the other day and noticed that there was a bent cross-member (along where it pulled the bolt and bulged the metal) and it appears that the "frame" is bent upwards slightly on both sides. I don't remember what it felt like to run the box spring over (in the box :D) but it would seem that it got caught and the car had to hop over it.

Sportin' my Scionlife stickers still :D But yeah. The body work doesn't look that bad. New skirt, bumper, splash guard for the passenger wheel well, and underbody splash guards. The biggest thing that worries me is the frame itself. I don't have pictures of that part yet...really need to track down my camera and get some.

What do you think? Am I about to lose my xB to a crappy, old box spring?

Cross-member damage (where it bent at the head, it pulled the bolt. There's a lovely bulge there now)

you're good, where your "frame" is bent is no biggie, i have known people jack up on that section and collapse it completely. as long as it rides true and doesnt pull you should be good. just minor bumps and scrapes. dont worry about the cross member either, thats basically just to keep the exhaust under your car.

Naturally, you fellas were right on the money. Car is out of the shop (remains of TS Ida, not withstanding) and back on the roads. My only complaint is that I'm hearing this knocking sound from the left side of the front end. Put the car up on jacks and found nothing amiss. It almost sounds like my swaybar knockin' around in there for some reason. And, before it might be asked, the noise was there as it went into the body shop.
