I need some opinions.
I currently have phantom grey xA 5 speed, but I have been looking at the new '06 xA.
Right now I am thinking about turning in my '05 for the newer one, but I was wondering if it really would be worth the trouble. Is there enough of a difference between the new and old? Or is it really just the same car in a new wrapper so to speak?
I love my xA, don't get me wrong. I just want to explore some options.
Thoughts??

 

IMO the 2006xA looks good, The 2005 model looks sportier(sp?). I dont believe that its enough of a difference to make me want to trade in my 05 for the new 06. What they need to do is make a RS 3.0 with a performance minded engine. When that day somes i will probably trade mine in for that one. yeah, but the difference is not enough to make me wanna trade in my 05.

 

What do YOU like better about the '06? There must be something, or you wouldn't be thinking about it. Personally, the only thing the '06 has that I wish my '05 had is the volume **** on the stereo. Other than that, I like my '05 better. A volume **** isn't enough reason for me to lose a bundle on a trade.

 

the only reason I was even contemplating it was that it would have been nice for me to get rims and the lowered springs included in the car (financed instead of aftermarket). I can get those taken care of now...but it would just be easier to take care of all that up front, and I did not get the opportunity at the time I purchased my car.
Was also curious if anyone else was contemplating the same thing I was.

 

I got my wheels and tires after market and saved a bundle. If you trade for an '06 just to get wheels and springs, it's going to cost you tons more just for the conveinance of financing it. First, you're going to lose money on the trade. Second, you're going to be paying interest on the wheels and springs. Third, the dealer's price for those items is going to be WAY more than aftermarket. I just don't see it being a smart move...IMHO.

 

Yeah, no way. I've got my 05pgp and I just can't see trading up to an o6 over some asthetics. What I really wanted them to do that would have done a better job trying to sell me, would have been cruisecontrol in place of volume controls on the steering wheel.

 

If it makes a difference, I just bought a new 05 over the 06.

I had the Flint Mica '06 all lined up to be delivered later this month. After comparing picuture after picture I decided I just likes the '05 better. Saved myself 200$ to boot ;)

As far as I can tell, here is the list of differences between the 05 and the 06. All are enhancements to the 06 over the 05.

1. The 06 gets a new stereo
2. The 06 gets the tC's side mirrors (with the turn signals in them)
3. The 06 gets an audio in jack for an Ipod or similiar device near the emergency brake
4. The 06 gets controls for the stereo on the steering wheel

That's it. If there's any other difference, please tell me.

2006 xA also has a different front grille and rear tail lights too.

 

i just picked up my '05 xa thursday and wound up with the '06 radio because the delaer had to install the radio and they didn't have any more '05 radios. best of both worlds, since pgp is the only color i wanted (waited 7 & 1/2 weeks) and i got the newer radio (not to mention the scion boost). hello to all the other pgp xa's on this forum.

 

The 06 gets a new front grill, that will not fit the 05 (tried; won't)
The 06 gets new rear and front lights, that again, won't fit the 05
And all the other things mentioned.

The 06 also will no longer be black on the lower panels, what I would call the 'running boards'...and no longer black inthe back where the exhaust is.
