05 xb just stoped help..
I have an 05 xb that about a 4 weeks ago was having prob with the MAF come to find out it was my ECU was bad and sending to much power to the MAF and burning it out.i fixed that prob and it was running good than took my kid to the fair on thursday and when we went to leave i started it up backed out started to go fwd and lost all power the car shut off and when u turn the key u get nothing .i had two lights on the dash on my oil light and my seat belt .so i checked the fuses thay where all good the battery good cables good ground good.so after sitting in the parking lot for about an hr trying to find the prob i went to start it and it started but when i tryed to go it did same thing and shut down only this time its not starting and its been 2 days of trying to fix this ..

AT? Maybe related to one of the transmission or brake light switches that toggle when you shift into gear. Since it won't start at all now, have you checked all the battery connections, fuses, and relays again? Sounds like you have, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Do we have a main fusible link?
its a 5 speed and yes iv checked all that .the thing i dont get is i have no lights or dash lights at all it dont turn over its like i hv a dead battery but battery is a new yellow top optima and is fully charged.do you know if the ignition switch is bad would that kill all power to car when i put my tester to the wires at the ignition switch thay hv power.also on the dash the oil light and battery light are on but dim and when i turn the key thay get briter...
well hope you took the window motor back, thats good your tv still works.and whats ur point ?a tv and a window motor hav anything to do with why my car dont start...
His point is that equipment can break anytime during its lifetime, and parts can also last a long time as well.
what he meant was dont discount that it could be the ECU..it does not matter if you replaced it 4 weeks ago...you still need to test it
if you could send me the wire diagrams that would be cool my email is handyxbbox@yahoo.com .thx.... do you know if there is a way to check the fusable links....
The fusible link is connected to your positive (+) side of the battery , if you had a battery change it could have been screwed up then. Your remote start ( depending on which one ) bypasses the FL , this could be why it will start and run until you apply the brake , with a remote start system on the car the power to the lights could enter the system this way giving you "dim warning lights" electricity flows the path of least resistance.
to check it , locate it under the big red plastic cover on the battery , it is hidden there , and check it with an OHM/Volt meter , it can work some of the time because it is built like a fuse with a wire that can be broken but dangle and move enough to touch , again making contact ( older ones were on the fire wall and just a big ceramic block with a coil of wire round em.)
