Sounds like it's time for professional help at the dealership. The ECU sounds like the likely suspect, and a SOB to diagnose/repair on your own.

AT? Maybe related to one of the transmission or brake light switches that toggle when you shift into gear. Since it won't start at all now, have you checked all the battery connections, fuses, and relays again? Sounds like you have, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Do we have a main fusible link?

I've had a window motor be bad out of the box, yet my 27" TV is 12 years old and works awesome. What's your point?

Your description does seem to single out the ignition switch. That's worth following through on, IMO.

His point is that equipment can break anytime during its lifetime, and parts can also last a long time as well.

what he meant was dont discount that it could be the ECU..it does not matter if you replaced it 4 weeks ago...you still need to test it

Bad battery connection, power or ground cable, etc. You can easily get to the ignition switch and knock on it, wiggle the wires- that may make it work.

I wondered if we have a fusible link earlier. Definitely check that out, too.

The fusible link is connected to your positive (+) side of the battery , if you had a battery change it could have been screwed up then. Your remote start ( depending on which one ) bypasses the FL , this could be why it will start and run until you apply the brake , with a remote start system on the car the power to the lights could enter the system this way giving you "dim warning lights" electricity flows the path of least resistance.

to check it , locate it under the big red plastic cover on the battery , it is hidden there , and check it with an OHM/Volt meter , it can work some of the time because it is built like a fuse with a wire that can be broken but dangle and move enough to touch , again making contact ( older ones were on the fire wall and just a big ceramic block with a coil of wire round em.)
