06 Salsa Red XB with Steering Wheel Radio Controls
Ill be a bit ____y if I missed out on upgraded steering wheel, I like others use mine alot and looking to the dash instead of new wheel wont make my day. If it was an option I would have ordered it.
OK, just got the memo today from Toyota Motor Sales...
...Salsa red and Shadow Mica will hit the east coast around mid january and the west coast as usual will see it first in December. Also, the steering wheel controls will be included with this new mid year release. However, the base price will be increased by $150 to compensate. On the memo there was something about a "freshened look" on the interior upholstery. Im not sure what that means...

The Xa and Xb are supposed to have the 99% same parts. So I expected that wiring harness for Xa and Xb dash area would be the same.
It makes sense even if it is not used.
So I ask the question has anyone actually looked at the different steering wheels and connectors attached to them?
I am going to the dealer today and asking him to look at my wiring harness and the Xa steering wheel with controls and tell me can it be done or not.

I got my 2006 xb in the middle of August. I bought it right out of the dealers inventory. They had three in stock. I got the Thunder Met. All three xB's had Radio controls in the steering wheel. It's located to the left of the horn button. The top rocker switch is: Volume up-Volume down. The Middle rocker is: Station/Track higher/lower. The bottom push button switch is Mode - FM1, FM2, AM, AUX, CD. It is a at addition. I love it.

They made the change at the same time they are switching over to the new paint colors for '06 so theoretically an '06 Salsa Red xB will have the controls...
Let me just say, I had no idea that the 06's did not originally come with the steeringwheel audio controls. The first time I ever sat in an xB was the night before I bought it (9/21/06). I loved that it came with the audio controls, it's one of my favorite features of the car). I would have been seriously bummed if I got an xB just before they rolled out the midyear additions.
I was surprised the xB came with steering wheel radio controls. I love using them, especially changing track. But I am prolly lazy, cause I could just as easily have turned it using the console interface.
Anywho, stoked about the iPod interface. I figured it out in like 30 seconds, where as friends of mine are still trying to understand their Honda ones.
