Default 06 Sterring wheel audio control

Just went to the scion's website and found out that the new XB's comes with the steerwheel audio controls. This just got updated on Decmeber 14th. But by placing the steering wheel audio control the price went up 150 dollars. I'm glad i bought mine before that happened. 150 dollars for steering wheel contorls. NOt a good idea since i have new system in mine anyways.

I agree about a billion percent. We have steering wheel audio controls on our Camry and about 98% of the time I reach over to the radio to adjust anything anyway, so it certainly isn't worth any extra cost to have it on my xB . . . .

BTW, NICE looking box you have there!! (Camo is the BEST xB color!)

You would think they would make that an option. I mean, the stereo is the first to go for 75% of the people on here

I should add that I still have my stocker. So its like the last thing to go for me.

There are some of us that have no interest in getting rid of the stock radio and own a 2006. I for one am upset that I wasn't at least given the option as I would have taken it.

And where exactly did you get that statistic? Going to meets, I don't see nearly that many aftermarket stereos.

Remember that Scions are sold as monospec cars. That allows the dealers to keep a smaller stock of vehicles.

You're forgetting that a lot of Scion owners aren't "enthusiasts" and don't alter their cars from stock. They don't attract much attention, but they are in the majority.

Pooder that is correct. I agree that the color camo is going to be unique. I think its one of the most unique colors that scion makes. Steering wheel audio control option. hmmm its a hundred fifty dollars more from the MSRP, but if it was made as an accesorie option they would probably charge hmm let me guess around double or more. With that amount I would add somting else such as tints, HIDs or etc. I think the stock stereo sux for the XB. The TC sounds Ok with the added woofer but the XB needs some work on clarity.

we cant forget that they remade a new fabric or something dont notice a diff but they say it was gonna be new colors/fabrics. steering wheel covers are dumb still 125 aint much but ill prob only use it once i mean comeon whose seen it all it is, is volume controls and what i believe is a seek option? who cares it sux but if we b!tch about it long enough maybe they will option it out, the way i see it scion wants to be the company known for their standard equipment. like the stabilitrac and abs, alot other cars in this price range dont even offer this such as civic... so i think they wanna show this off, someone out there will like it like i said 125 aint much but this opton would still be good

wtf? my wifes 06 xb is camo, they discontinued it, that sux. no wonder why i had to wait 4 weeks to get it and it came from timbucktoo. also, neither one of us had radio controls, we both have 06 xb's too. dangit! it would be kinda cool, there is a local shop here that can make the controls work with aftermarket radios, they did it with an accord we used to have. either way, i gues i wouldnt want to pay 125 for it.

Scion should not make changes when the 06 model lines were already being sold.so unfair for the people that have purcahsed it before they even had the steering wheel audio control availabe. Also the price of MSRP went up 150 not 125 such a waste tho hehe.

So, if it destresses you so much that they made a change mid-year then call the new ones "2006-1/2s".

Incremental changes are nothing new. VW used to crow about them in their Beetle ads, saying that they didn't wait to improve on the bug.

2006 1/2 XBs thats funny.
It doesnt mind me that much that scion made changes. It seems they only added the audio controls on wheel, Im not sure if this is true but i have heard that the side mirrors with signal lights are coming out for the (2006 1/2) models. hehe That i would like to have

When we bought a 1980 Datsun 210 wagon in early 1980, they actually started selling the 1981 redesign by the time ours was delivered. Today they would probably have just called it an '81, but ours actually said "1980 1/2" on the title and registration.
