I've been reading about the changes to the XB in the '06 model, and I'm curious--is the Ipod connection only part of the optional upgraded stereo? In other words, did I miss out on having a standard stereo with an Ipod connection, or would old Mr. "I'm Not Paying for Options" not have one even if he had waited to buy his XB?

Eggie...there was a long thread on the "General" forum about the changes for '06 on all three Scion models. A Scion delaer mentioned that the Ipod connection would only be available with the 6 CD changer. I'm just trying to verify that...

 

I think Reno said it would be something that comes with the premium audio. I'd ask him to be sure.

 

If that's the only change, I would so just get one of the
aftermarket adapters and be happy.

What a lame improvement. an overpriced interface into a stock ( read weak and not very good sounding ) deck

 

The single disc will have a connector for any type of MP3 player and the 6 disc is supposed to have a direct connect for the iPod. I have not seen the radio and this is what I have been told, so it may not be entirely accurate. I do know that the volume control will be a **** instead of buttons. In December there will be 2 color changes. Black Cherry Pearl and Camo Metallic are gone. They will be replaced with Salsa Red Pearl (look at a red Camry) and Shadow Mica (never seen it). Other than that it will be the same.

 

I heard they're changing the radios to have a line in on the front and a volume ****.

Thanks for the info, however I wish you woul do one thing for those of us that like the discontinued colors and want to get one. When you make reference to the 2 colors being replaced could you highlight the change date ie DECEMBER 2005
I assume that that is a production date and they will build Black Cherry Pearl and Camo Metallic through December 31, 2005. Do you know if that assumption is correct?

 

Shadow Mica is a color available on the Toyota Matrix.
