So I'm getting my new(used) '06 XB up to speed with upgrades, etc... I just have the stock keyless entry with mine. What would you guys recommend for a good security system? I have some gift cards to Best Buy and was thinking of just going there and having them install a security system in it. Is the factory system better?

What would the forum recommend for a good and reasonably priced security set up for the XB?

any alarm system is better than the factory one. i wish i would have said no to mine and went aftermarket

 

just get a Viper and you will be fine.

 

what are the pros and cons of the scion security system?

no remote start bulit in
lack of sensors
crappy sensitivity adjustment

I don't recommend you get the factory system. I have a friend in Philadephia who is the number one security installer. His name is Rob. His shop is called The Car Alarm Shop. Give him a call at 215-472-2486 tell him Mike with the Scion referred you.

 

does the alarm trigger if it is armed and a door is opened? how do you trigger the factory alarm?
