i think a lot of it is 2 big things

driving style

gas quality

I wonder if those bottles of octane booster would help? I also always put in a bottle of gas treatment at every fillup...its cheap and i dont trust the quality of gas honestly...because they can put what they want in it...ive got no way of knowing how good it is

put gas treatment in, see if it makes a difference. like previous post...you gotta track it for a period of time to really know....you cant just test it once.

does octane booster possibly help?

Since higher octane fuel doesn't help I do not think the booster would either. I'd suggest trying fuel from different manufactures. This would let you know if it's the fuel quality or not. You could always try to change the fuel filterLOL good luck finding it though. LOL
Seriously though, I'm to the point after 20K miles, mine is always at 29-32 mpg regardless of anything. I just quit checkin' it and don't worry about it anymore.

I'm in Anchorage as well but I get 32mpg on average and thats all city driving. with a 70/30 mix of city/hwy I get 34mpg. But this will likely change with winter starting. THis week it's been like 30 degrees F all week! I think your bigger rims and wider tires play a part in your gas mileage. More rolling resistance.
I have a friend with a different car that simply switched to a higher performance stickier tire on his car that were the same exact size as stock and he lost several miles per gallon.

We've had our 06 for a week now. On it's 4th tank now but the first three were 30.6, 31.2, 31.5 MPG.

yep, we've been driving it a little since we got it a week ago Friday!

i let my brother drive it once and he was cruising at 80-85 so that took a big hit on tank #2 lol

the hard part for me is going to be trying to drive normal...even after getting the intake installed this coming week...intake and exhaust will tempt me but I will just try and drive normal

My average is 32 mpg, but I notice that my tire pressure is more critical than shift points. 33 front and 30 rear.

I've had mine for a few weeks and have gotten 32 & 33 mpg (haven't been driving a lot) and that's driving like a geriatric since while the engines breaking in. I recently started going to a new gas station (Conoco) when I had my old car (94 thunderbird) and I noticed my mpg went up a few miles and I didn't change my driving style. I later found out that Conoco is part of Top Tier Gas, which is a group of oil companies that have a special blend that has more detergents. Since it was an older car, maybe the detergents cleaned out some of the deposits that built up which lead to the increased mpg. Either way, it might be interesting to fill up a top tier gas station for a few tanks and see if you notice any difference. Check out toptiergas.com to see which companies are part of it

I have 13000+ miles and I haven't gotten better than 32MPG hwy. I am VERY dissapointed. I don't know what the dealer will be able to do. Any advice as to what to tell them? Also, I drive like a granny and still RARELY get over 280 before the light comes on. Last tank was mostly highway and we got 260 miles before the light came on. After 282.3 miles, it took 10.404 gallons. Thats a little over 27 MPG. What gives? My Matrix XRS got 37+ on the highway doing 70-80 MPH...ohhh I miss it sooo

Default Gas Tank.

I know most drive till they need to fill up. in therory keeping tank half full all the time will improve milage due to the weight of the fual alone. Just an idea for the avad trying to squeek the best number.

Ill be fuel rating was done with a couple gallons in the car.

I get my best mileage when using Chevron or BP, any good quality name brand with no Methanol. If I use Murphy, Cowboys, or Raceway gas I loose 2+mpg. I have been keeping my mpg in my sig for others to reference not as a bragging point.

I don't baby my box nor do I hi rev either. I run through the gears, shifting around 3 grand. I don't lug the engine either as that will eat gas too. I try not to let the revs stay below 2 grand without down shifting. Much below 2K and you are lugging. The only gear that I run less in is 1st and I can idle in it. I have to enter a Military Facility and waiting in line is a norm most days. 1st gear is just right for idling along in slow traffic.

For my last tank of gas, I got 29mph with a mix of city/highway and the heat on low a lot of the time.

I highly doubt any octane boost or gasoline additive is going to give you a gain in 4mpg, but give it shot and see what happends.
I have averaged 32mpg all city driving and with a mix of 70% city/ 30% hwy I averaged 34-35mpg. I have never been below 32mpg untill my fill up yesturday. The weather has gotten much colder the past two weeks. It has not been above freezing for my entire last tank, in fact it's been consistantly between 10-20 degrees the whole time. I've had to warm up the car and defrost windows in the morning and also I have been purposely trying to get my mileage lower this tank driving harder and not being as effiecient most of the time. My average was 28mpg. Now I will admit I wasn't racing every stop light or anything but I wasn't driving like granny either. Also there was allot of idling in the mornings so 28 isn't that bad considering. This next tank I am going to try and save gas while it's cold out and see what I can get in the winter. YES ITS WINTER HERE!
