Default Acetone?

Came across this video talking about acetone. Really impressive the mpg bump it gave. Wonder what it does to the fuel lines.

total load of bs. mythbusters already did a test and actually lost mpg in applications for both carbuerated and fuel injected engines. so don't bother, myth busted.

Can't imagine the carbon deposits it leaves. Interesting though

i wish i knew where to find it, but mythbusters did an episode with an old like buick with a carbuerated engine, and an old camry or corolla with a fuel injected engine and and put to rest every one of those bogus gas mileage increasing miracle garbage that people sell on ebay. they are pretty much snake oil. they do nothing but burn more gas.

what a shame...i ordered my turbonator a week before i saw this! LOL.

you can get good gas mileage if you periodically use fuel system cleaner in your tank. but thre isn't anything that will miraculously inprove your mpg.

i mean, your engine injects fuel to maintain a certain air/fuel ratio. so as drive, it keeps injecting a certain amount of fuel while you open and close the throttle. there is no additive that will make your car inject less fuel.

you could tune your car to run on a really lean mixture if you were desparate to save gas, but these additives don't help.

This had also been definitively busted right here on ScionLife before Myth Busters got 'round to it.

A search should have found it, easily...

yeah.. complete bs. The best way to save gas is to put a full cup of coffee without the cap on your cup holder. Now.. try not to spill it when you drive hehe.

Even better is to make sure the lidless full cup of coffee is very hot, and to clamp it between your legs while driving.

aanndd to ignore the label describing how hot it is and then sue who u bought it from! lawsuit!
how to save gas? go 5 under. how to shorten your lifespan to quite possibly days? drive 5 under. a fine balance indeed.

Well, the 5 under depends on what the speed limit is. I've got a notion to find a nice long, straight, flat road where I can try different speeds and see what the ol' ScanGauge says about fuel efficiency at different speeds.

I'm guessing it's somewhere between 40 and 55, but really don't know. Too many hills and curves around here. There's a nice flat desert about 3 hours drive from me...
