Default Actual Trade in value of xb??

Anyone work with a dealer or know about trading in cars. I am looking to trade my 05 Blue onyx pearl XB in for either a newer generation xb or something with more space, and more power.

The Bad
1.
The Scion has been in a single frontal accident which was repaired 100% by insurance and their repair service. All repair work performed i have original reciepts for all work done.
2. last month in the snow i slid sideways into a streetsign placing a dent into the right rear door panel and cracking the side skirt. I had the damaged estimated at 3 different collision centers at $1500. no rust or holes.

The good.
38,541 miles right now
New tires as of 3,000 miles ago w/ reciepts
clean interior
no smoke
All scheduled maintinance performed at dealership.
Passed MD state inspection & Emmisions test

My question is this Kbb.com rated it as fair condition and valued at $8,060. How accurate is this of an estimate for the trade in value of what i will get? And do you think i should spend the money to get the car fixed before i turn it in.

Thanks

I was gonna say about $8K, so you hit the nail on the head. I work at a dealership and a salesman said my car is worth about $10K...
I'd get more on the streets though!

8K trade in for that would be a blessing. Either sell it outright or bite the bullit and give it to the dealer. Eitherway you lose. Good luck with whatever you end up with.

I'm with Jeff. I had mine in a couple of weeks ago (2006.5, like-new condition, nearly every dealer option) just for grins, and was told $10,000 trade-in!
If you can get $8k for yours, I'd take it and run if you don't want to sell it yourself!

Look at all those suckers that traded in their almost new xBs for the xB2s. The dealers must have been laughing their ***** off.

I am guessing you would be surprised what you may get as a trade in for a new xB since sales are stagnant

If it were mine, I'd fix the dent and sell it outright. Here in Ohio, with the mileage and a good body you could get around $11500 - $12g.................guessing

you'll get screwed if you trade in, try to sell to a private buyer, unless you're in a big hurry

My xB is 2004 with 60,000 miles and quite a few scraches and dents. While checking out the new Matrix last week the Toyota dealer offered me $8,000 for my trade. I passed.

On an 05 with low miles, I would say you should get more, but if the car damaged, don't bother repairing it, just take what you can get.

i got a few appraisals a while back, the highest i got was to 12k but that was actually more like 10k and 2k off the price of the new car so it would look like i got more trade. car dealers are all shady. most of them dont even know about the cars they're selling. i hate having to deal with those sharks
