Default AEM Cold Air Indctn "Soft Mounts"- are they needed

Hey all- I just got my AEM CAI in from a parts warehouse in FL and the box didn't contain the soft mounts used to anchor the pipes. They told me they're not necessary, but I think they're just being lazy and hoping I'll go away. If they're intregal to the install, I'm sending the whole thing back. If not needed, I'll go ahead and put it in without them. Can I get some feedback on this from someone who has installed one? It's for an '05 TCM xB, but it probably doesn't matter. Thanks!

the reason for the mounts is so that when the engine moves the intake can absorb the force. Ifthe place that you bought it from wont give them to you, call AEM, great customer service.

The aem cai intake doesn't come w/ rubber mounts. It mounts to the throttle body and to the transmission thats it. THe injen uses rubber mounts. put it on and be happy.

Not true. Depending on the type of AEM he got. I can not speak for the "SNAIL" type, but I have the "L" type and it comes with a rubber mount.

Thanks, guys. I appreciate the responses.

I have the long intake with the AEM bypass valve. I'll call AEM for some advice and install instructions. The package came with the CAI tube in two pieces, the bypass valve, air flow meter, and the filter all separate. No instructions, no hardware other than the hose clamps. Looked on the AEM website, but no downloads for installation. I put it together uninstalled and I think it's all there, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.
