Default air coming out of vents

Anyone have this prob? When I put the vent control on defrost, air still comes out of all the vents, even when on cabin air. Anyone else have this or know about a fix?

no i do n't have that specific problem, but now for some reasons when the a/c or any air is on, the flow is way less less powerful on the driver side. the passenger side flows great. I mean it comes out the drivers side but about half as less as the passenger side.

I do get some air flow out of the dash vents when on defrost, mostly from the vents nearest the side windows, I assume to help keep them clear. I don't view it as a problem...

I point them upward too...just curious as I have never had this problem on other newer cars. Also, Air continually comes out of the dash no matter where the control is pointed...

I switched from Ford to the Scion and noticed this... Ford defrost controls were all the way left but the Scion is all the way right. I first thought I had this problem till I noticed that the direction **** works backwards from all Fords. Check it and see if you made the same mistake.

Other cars have dedicated defroster vents for the side windows - holes in the sides of the dash. The xB doesn't. It's been my assumption that the xB designers chose this as a cuttable corner.

Is this the same in other Echo-based cars? Other competing small cars?
