I mean, either way, I doubt anyone is going to fess up to it. Consider this to be a way to get a nice, non-factory paint job. Living well is the best revenge, no?

i seriously am thinking about just painting my xB in Black LineX or that Amoro stuff they use for planes...

or finding a shop that can do 2-part polyurethane paint in black with like a flat black smooth finish to it and then putting in big white letters in my cargo windows saying "Scratch This B*tch!"

2-part poly paint is insanely strong and durable. imagine powder coating the whole car... only the paint will never dull out and you could take a freakin wire brush and a power tool and never get it off unless you use a freakin rock grinder...

would look nice, act as an exterior sound deadening and would be impervious to scratching or chipping of any kind.

wow, that is intense. people can be really stupid and inconsiderate when it comes to cars. all the damage on my car has been because of someone else, so i can somewhat relate to how you feel right now.

i agree that if you have the money invest is a nice custom paint job, that is my plan once i get the money.

Good luck!

#%Q#($&*Q*%&#Q%&*#&% *#
WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
id be so ____ed, no could calm me down.

ive never been keyed (cross my fingers)
but i had someone break in to a different car that i have about 6 years ago and took an amp and about 200 CDs.
same deal, it was at a party of people that i trusted.
this was the big thing, my car was locked. some one got my keys from inside the house, did the deed, lock the car, and put my keys back.
i turned into the incredible hulk in everyones face untill i found were it was.
never caut the person that did it, i found who had it (who said they knew where the rest was) i made them go get it.
i tied to make them tell me and promissed that i would bring there name into it, but they wouldn't break.
i got my stuff back, every bit of it.
it was sad, i found that alot of people that i thaught that i trusted knew (after it happened) who did it, i didn't say anything to me.

if i were you id be questioning eveyone and looking for stories that don't match.

tomorrow i get the insurance appraisal guy to come and have a look and then it's off to the shop for like a week to 10 days....

there's still those 4 people that i have a feeling about... i went and cleaned it all up today to get a better look at all the damage. looks like a flat head screw driver with the width of the flat end of around 1/4" to 3/8". all the line are consistent to one another and the thick and wide marks support the screw driver theory.

what is the TCM paint code again? cause my tag says 1D2, thought the code for ours was longer than that?

sadly enough... the 4 people that i suspect are friends...

-one is the birthday boy's cousin... some time again he thought it would be funny to through king sized ice waters from burger king at my car and he was being a complete douche bag and i told him to eff off and whatnot. but the reason why i don't suspect him as much is because he was a man about things and came up to me as soon as he got to the party and apologized to me and knew he was being a douche and whatnot and during the whole party was with me, the other birthday boy's cousin and the birthday boy just about the whole time which pretty much rules him out.

-another is the guy who originally pointed it out because he's a freakin moron when he's drunk and i could definitely see him doing something like that. he actually had his house keys on him during that time... but the marks aren't consistent with a key... takes alot of pressure and dexterity to do that kind of damage with a small little key and this guy just doesn't have it. also, there were no screw drivers present at the location. all the tools owned by the home owner were locked up in the garage.

-another is a friend who i suspect due to me seeing him near my car for a period of time and at one time was ____ed at me for taking pictures of his girlfriend and the birthday boy's sister in bikinis washing the birthday boy's supra... when it was the boyfriends idea to do it in the first place! but that was some time ago and he wasn't THAT ____ed, just irritated until he got over it when he finally grasped that it was his idea to do it in the first place and he wanted ME to take the pictures because he wasn't good with cameras... he had come along with his girlfriend to the party in her jeep and may have had a screw driver in there. all i have to do is look for one and see if there is any paint residue and if there is even a screw driver of the right size to do the marks. a simple scratch test will tell the differences or similarities of the scratch characteristics.

-last is the younger brother of the guy who's phone disappeared that had all the numbers of everyone that was at the party. he was stoned at the same time of being drunk AND he and his girlfriend were having problems and he was mister loner outside most of the time being a complete emo... but he's got respect for me and i don't see him doing something like that. he's more of the one to just say f$%k you and never talk to you again.

other then those 4, it had to be one of the random people who i didn't know.

One of my buddies car had a custom champagne pink paint job on it and some girl keyed B I T C H in the side and once they knew i knew who did it but didnt want any drama or part of it my Lancer was key on the passenger side from one door to the other. so i know how it feels but all in all soon you will be sporting a new paint job on the xb and it will look as good as new.

thankfully i know it's not a p!ssed ex *cough cough*

there wont be any custom paint. they decided it wont be a full re-paint.

they will fix the cracked bumper from a previous problem when i first got it, stupid deers! and apparently they are capable of fixing the dent creases in the hood too so... guess i'll see.

8-10 days without my car... makes my already harsh financial issues worse because i have no transportation to look for work, nor can i really apply for anything at the moment and really get good feedback when i say i can't be hired for the next 2 weeks or more because my car is in the body repair shop...

you know you can report this to the police right? IT's criminal mischief, and in utah, something that caused that much damage would be a 3rd degree FELONY.

Assuming the damage is more than $1,000 which I would guess.

estimates is roughly 4000-5000 in total damages.

already on top of the police report too.

though it is completely up to me to find all evidence about this issue due to i'm the one who knows who all was there. the police can help... some, but unfortunately for as much as i know in this data bank of a mind i have... i only know the first names of the people there, and only know the physical location of where the event took place but not an actual address... so it makes it a bit hard for the police at this point. until i am able to get back out there and work my magic, i wont be able to do much at all... if only google earth had clearer images of the area, i could pin point where it was if it was a clearer image.

as for now, my insurance knows there is a case open on the situation so that it insures that i'm not lying to them about anything.

if it ends up being one of my close friends who did it in their drunken stupor... i may just be lenient and be the better person by dropping the charges in compliance that he or she is to pay me back in full for my comprehensive deductible and the cost of my rental vehicle and will have this done through a contract through an attorney. any breach of the contract and the charges will be enforced and full action will take place.

also, she goes in first thing this next monday at 8am for her recovery.
