Glad as well to see that you made out ok. Quick thinking possibly saved your life.

I too would say that with the torquing of the box causing the roof to buckle ( which you can see in the close up ) there is no way they wouldnt total it. If they offer to fix it, tell them no thanks. Your xB will never ride correct again, and then you just open yourself up to a world of trouble down the line. Improperly worn tires .... bushings ... s_*t wont fit right any more ... the list goes on and on. Push for a total loss and hopefully youll get some money back if you still owe on the car.

Good Luck.

You are so luck that the truck driver stopped and the trooper had pulled the guy over. Hopefully you will get a fair judgement on your car. Make sure you pull some classifieds on similar xB's to show your insurance if they try to low ball you. Best of luck!!

Glad you survived the whole ordeal Chad. You just never know when things like this are gonna happen. Good call on the ditch too. No sense in testing the airbags. It could hurt!

You mentioned staying in the Scion family but not if you were getting a first or second gen? Any chance of waiting for the xD?

At least you are alright. Just think of it as a fresh start with a new B!

Thanks!

I've already decided on the new gen XB. I drove one yesterday and fell in love. I can't wait for the XD. I drive 120 miles a day minimum so I need something dependable and now.

If you haven't driven the gen 2 XB, you just don't know. It's like crack for XB owners. Once you drive it you are hooked.

The one I test drove was an auto. It had a lot more pep than I was expecting. I turned onto an onramp to get on I-95 and pushed the pedal to the floor and the XB2 took off. I wasn't anywhere near being able to merge and I got up to 77 MPH. That was with 3 people in the car and the AC on. In my XB1 I wouldn't have gotten close to that speed even if I was alone, had almost an empty tank, AC off, a tail wind, and a Shelby GT pushing me.

We can relate.

I'm just glad your ok bro. The two lane roads of Arkansas are not so forgiving when you need to leave the road.

So we may start seeing some second generation gauge faces real soon.

It seems like it took forever but the insurance company has deeemed my car is a total loss. From a safety and maintenance perspective I'm very happy. I am going to miss my box.

I'm really sorry to hear about your accident and also am glad your alright. My wife and 3 children were hit by a 19 year old drunk driver in our 06 xB,Thank God they were all o.k.. I actually had to get real nasty w/ the insurance company -Damage was $8700.oo and they didnt want to total it. Well I forced em' and they did ( I had gap insurance) The day they deemed it totalled I called our local Scion dealership to ask when the 08's were coming out, They said "We just got the first one today!" I do agree that they should not have named this car an xB. It is a totally different car. I love both for very different reasons. Can I ask what insurance you had? Just wondering how they took care of you.

Thanks! My insurance is State Farm but they haven't done anything. I was lucky they caught the guy that ran me off the road so his insurance is covering it. I can't think of the name of his company right now.

Yeah? my insurance is state farm too and they totally suck , the other driver had state farm as well making the problem worse. They were like" Well here is the number for her agent and see ya later". I will be switching asap. Right now we have a law suit going with the insurance company. I really do highly recomend the new xB. And there are a lot of people already tricking them out to look pretty sweet.
