statements are quoted from Toyota reps
It will take me longer to find the statements on FJ production volume

I don't see the point of offering only an RS model in a strange color, except out of spite.

I can't seem to find the statements on FJ Cruiser production volume, I just remember it to be much higher than 40,000 units, could be wrong there. I seem to recall a figure before we knew about the various Option Packages.
the tundra from what i've been told over , and over again will be out end of january. with the 5.7 will be able to tow close to 11,000 and have close to 400 hpo. there is no concrete info on the truck except the launch date as to what i've been told.
and all the show trucks ( about 3 that are current now )of the 07 tundra are still handmade units from metal crafters.
the crash/test trucks(close to 30 or so ) are rolling off the assembly line.

40,000 was the original production numbers. from what i recal hearing the number will hopefully close to double to try and keep up with the insane demand over them

Toyota should probably do well if they offer the best fuel economy for the respective grade of truck, 150, 250, and 350, while still meeting the highest demands of each grade.
Since the big three trucks have been sold as part of fleet sales for so long the parts supply chain is just incredible, and could survive largely without the manufacturer's direct support, this is something that will take a long time for Toyota to duplicate.
they should. the 6 speed auto is a great thing. the 5.7 should have about teh same mileage as the 4.7 does now. and the 4.7 will get better since it too will receive a 6 speed auto.
GM is offering improved fuel economy with their new large trucks 16/22. Toyota needs to beat that to make a place for themselves. 10% fewer large trucks being sold from last year, and fuel costs are the most likely reason.
16/22 may be possible with the 4.7.
i'm guessing gm is doing that by using multiple displacement . which toyota won't dso seeing as it's a lilmited technology , and creates unever wear .
