Default Any tips on factory/dealer options?

I'm looking to buy a xB and don't plan to do too much customization of my own, so I'd like to get the right factory/dealer options off the bat. Does anyone have tips on which of the website-listed options are worth having or not? So far I'm looking at:

Chrome Handles
Scion Package (Tail/Fog Light, Tint, Exhaust)
Rear Spoiler

Armrest
Security System
Cruise Control
Carpet Mats
Green Led
Sport Pedal
iPod Support
Overhead DVD

In particular what do you think of the DVD system if you happen to have one factory-installed?

Thanks in advance.

Since when is DVD a factory installed option, or even dealer installed?

Here's what I've got opinions on or experience with:

Security System - From what I've read here on SL, you can get better for cheaper elsewhere.
Cruise Control - Having done the installation myself, I'd say it's well worth having someone else do it unless they're asking too much (which all my local dealers were).
Carpet Mats - Buy 'em from scionpartspeople or trdsparks - way cheaper.
Sport Pedal - Buy 'em from scionpartspeople or trdsparks - way cheaper.

Keep in mind that "get it elsewhere for cheaper, and probably better" is a the rule when it comes to dealer-installed options.

As far as the DVD player goes, since it's your dealer's option and not Scion's, you'll get more info from folks if you can provide more details, like the make and model.

The DVD system is listed on the Scion website. Anyone familiar with that? Two options, one overhead, one dual-head-rest-screens.

Thanks all for the info. How easy is it to install the security system yourself? Like the one from scionpartspeople.

unless you are talking about teh xB RS3 then i have never heard of factory DVD players. i also havnt heard of the "Scion Package" it sounds like your dealer is putting these packages together.

I would get anything electonic installed by the dealer. i have heard of ppl get screwed because they got an aftermarket security system that messed up the electronics and it voided the warretny. same with cruise control.

get the soiler if you want it.

get the floormats other places much cheaper

the other stuff you listed will likely be waaaaaaaay over priced at the dealer not to mentiont he crazy installtion fees. just get things down the road.

I've heard of the Scion package from a dealer here in NC. I'd get the Armrest, Carpet Mats, Sport Pedal from TRD Sparks. As for the DVD, I'd just get one from an audio shop and save some money.

I had the dealer do the fogs, armrest, security & spoiler. Paid through the nose. I've since done the sports pedals (5 min piece of cake) and the rear bumper applique (looks good and functional, at least IMO). Both from trdsparks. Dirt cheap.

I also did the custom cabin air filter.

I should be getting my cruise control in a couple of weeks for my B-day (to be professionally installed $335).

dont buy anything factory you will get raped on the price for a basic standard piece of equipment. You can buy a much nicer item somewhere else online or in your town for way more. If i let the factory install anything id be paying through my teeth

I went with the hub caps, arm rest, floor mats, and scion alarm. I've been happy with it thus far and only wish to change the wheels in the future.
