Default is anyone else having this problem?

ive had my xb for ten days now and the ignition has locked up twice. when it does i have to put a great amount of force on the key until it pops into the start position. im afraid one of these times the key is going to snap off in the ignition. anyone else ever had this problem? gonna try to get it to the dealears asap

Turn the locked steering wheel to the right and left, and this will allow the key to turn easier. Hope this is the problem. I have had this problem with the steering wheel locking the ignition key on other cars.

Turn your steering wheel slightly and it'll turn smooth as butter. It's a steering wheel lock. All cars since the 1970s have had them. DON'T force the key. It will break things.

Had the same problem then found out if you use the wheel to get out it locks up and put resistance on the ignition switch. Like they said if the switch is hard to turn wiggle the wheel while turning the key. It's not something the dealer can fix. It's the nature of the beast

Also, if it's an automatic, make sure the shifter is in park. If it is off slightly, that would also impair the key turning.

Yep, thats from grabbing the wheel to get out of the car. You pull down (turn it to the left) on it and it locks in place putting force on the ingnition switch.
