Default back doors close hard

while this certainly isnt a luxzo model, the back doors close pretty hard/cheap with little cushioning compared to the front. any fix for it?

by hard.. do you mean loud/thin sounding?? or hard, large "thump" sound???

to make the doors sound/feel a bit more solid you could put some sound deadener on them... like dynamat, edead, fatmat ect... makes them sound lots better
give the warm fuzzy of a nice solid door

I've noticed that the last door to close, rear, hatch, or front, always feels more cushioned - because it is, by compression of the air inside the car. If you close a front door with the hatch open, it feels cheap too.

i've done the air pressure trick, testing out all the doors and hatch. It's obvious the front doors have that faked "heavy door of quality" cushioning built right in. the back doors don't. it's an 06 i just bought(a month ago to this day), and since both back doors are of equal cheesiness, im sure it's just how they were manufactured.

No, not unless you go crazy. I would guess that one layer in all doors and hatch would be well under 10 lbs, and very much worth it.

Friend of mine that also owns an xB closed the door after I added sound deadening and was surprised. When I dropped him back off at his house - he tapped on my passenger door and then on the Ford Taurus door I was parked next to. The xBs door sounded just as solid as it did.

I was told it makes a tremendous difference but I will say I must be used to it or faking myself out since I lowered my xB the same weekend I installed the sound deadnening. I'm thinking about using my excess matt to do the roof this weekend and maybe add some foam to the doors.
