I just ordered an HID kit for my Xb and I am wondering were to mount the Ballasts : /,
I remember on my old xb I had them mounted in the top inner bumper so they could not be stolen and it was a nice dry spot, but one day the ground must have given loose or something and the HIDs automatically switched themselves on and drained my battery. I had to remove my bumper in the cold to correct this error. Does anyone have any good tips/pics of where they are placing there ballasts underneath the hood of the XB ?
Maybe rapping them in electrical tape? I always thought water can damage them so its got to be a dry spot.

 

If the wiring is long enough I would think each ballast would sit on that ledge just under the fender mounting spots. That is where the boxes for my strobes are mounted. They are fairly level and should be large enough to fit each ballast.

I would think 2 sided 3M tape would work without having to drill holes.

 

it will. drilling into my baby was very painful, but i just wanted that extra sense of security, ya know.
