Default bitter sweet addition to xB family....

.... certainly feel more at home here (scionlife.com) now that i have welcomed a 5-spd shadow mica xB into my garage. i should be very excited and happy, but i bear a bitter sweet feeling because i got it last friday 1/27, one day after my beloved grandfather's funeral.

i ordered my xB on new years eve, and finally came in 4 weeks later. but because of the circumstance with my grandfather, i am not as excited as i should be. he is at a good place now, but i know he would have loved the xB. NO DOUBT! in 95 years of life he has gone through, imagine all the stuff he has seen and experienced. a ride in his grandson's xB would have been the icing on the cake. he would have been one hip 95 year old xB-er. don't you all agree?

i know he is happy for me up where he is, and we'll definitely meet again. from here, process of healing starts now.

thanks to Kirby, Erik B. and everyone here for the support and also a thanks to Tony at Claremont Scion. lastly, a big thank you to my grandfather, because without him, i wouldn't be here; i'm his living legacy in a xB.

Very sorry to hear of your loss. It's definitely a difficult time when a loved one passes from us.
My prayers, and I'm sure the prayers of many of us here, are with you and your family.

Wow, that hit home. My grandmother passed away in October and her and I looked through the scion catalog before I ever bought my box (still waiting for it, ordered new years eve), and I knew she would have gotten such a kick out of it. Very sorry for your loss. Much respect.

Kai, Please give your family my condolences. I had the privilege of meeting him and I will never forget how dignified he was. That's a quality that both you and Jonathan carry with you today and it's a rare quality in people today. Please check your pm and let me know if there's anything I can do for you or your family.

My thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family.

Sorry for your loss. Misted my eyes up and made me think of my grandpa that died at 103yr. He would have loved riding around in the box too. Your grandpa must have must have been a wonderful person to leave such a thoughtful "legacy."
