Default Bought an xB

just bought one today for the wife. at first we tested out the corolla XRS but went with the xB due to more rear seat legroom and a cheaper price. there's nothing special about the xB we bought. it's a white 5 speed came with pedals and ugly blue pinstriping that will be comming off asap. it was used and has 12k on the clock. i don't plan on modifying the xB much as i have 2 other cars i'm working on. a bossted sr20 powered sentra and my 03 matrix XRS. so i can't really afford and mods with the other 2 cars to worry about.

the one thing i will tell you is that the xB is SLOW when compared to my other cars but we didn't expect or want something fast. we just wanted something nice, roomy and good on gas. my other cars only take premium and it gets expensive.

just some questions...

hows the scion soCal scene?

gas milage?

anything i should worry about?

any tips i should know? anything.

i'm also an active member on matrixowners.com if you guys know about that place. and to the MO people, hi.

pics soon.

Congrats on the xB. Yes, they are kinda slow. But if you already know that and you're not worried about it being fast, it won't bother you. Isn't that interior room insane! We have several friends who own BIG, luxury SUVs. None of them have anywhere the rear seat leg room or head room as the xb.

Thats what impressed us with the XB was the room!! It looks soo small, but once you get in, its like wow, its huge!! Almost feel like your in a truck, but a much better ride!! We just ordered our XB on Sat. Should have it by end of the month. cant wait.

I can't answer the SoCal scene, but here's the rest:

gas milage? - still averaging 34 after 30,000 miles. This is driving at the speed limits. Any higher than that and mpg drops rapidly. After all you're driving a brick not a door wedge :-)

anything i should worry about? - remember this is an economy car meant for mpg and utility. Be patient and don't take any risks trying to pass or pull out.

any tips i should know? anything. -get used to a lot of opinions coming your way. but most of all enjoy it!

I've had zero problems with my car and love the fact that I'vve been able to haul appliances and loads of other stuff like 2 full sets of twin beds (at the same time) with not too much hanging out the back. This is one great car.

How's your Matrix been as far as reliability??? I traded in an '01 PT Cruiser that fell apart at 75,000 miles for an '05 Vibe which is the same car as the Matrix only with different skin. I got mine in ORANGE! lol... check out my pics in the link below.

Enjoy your xB and welcome to the family!

Great to hear, thanks. I have 15,000 miles on mine since October and we had one issue with the air bag light staying on. They fixed it under warrantee.
