Default Buying Question

Hello all. This is my first post to this forum, but have been lurking for a while. I'm seriously considering buying an xA, and am *very* excited about it.

My question is: I know that the web site...and both dealers I've been to have said that they will not negotiate the price of the car. Has this been your experience?

Thanks so much!

Ya - I think they *have* to stay with the set prices, but make sure you shop around, because I know when I bought mine a few months ago a lot of dealers would throw $3000 rims/tires and a bunch of other stuff on the car that you wouldn't really want/need to boost up the price. Good luck!

Default Thanks for the replies.....

Thanks for the replys...much appreciated.

No auto for me here.....I love driving stick....and would never get an auto. I actually just test drove two today....auto and manual. The manual does feel much more responsive than the auto. I think I'm gonna order mine soon...so I can get the things I want....and just what I want. Seems to be a wait time of about 2 months if you order one. I hope to do it soon...and can't wait!

Again thanks to all that responded

ted,

Any dealership that gives a spoiler or floormats for free has a chance of losing their allocation for not being compliant. We have to abide by the rules that scion has given to us which is given the guests the cars, the way they have them configured. Some dealerships will sell only cars which are fully accessorized instead of allowing their guests to choose a car the way they want it. Just my my 2 cents.

I believe they can give them away, but they have to do it for ALL their customers in a 30 Day period. It can't be a per deal transaction... That's what Pure Pricing is. Vehicle price = Advertised Price. My 2 cents

So much auto-bashing! I guarantee your stick is no faster than my auto...as we sit bumper-to-bumper every morning on the 405. PS: went to Solvang this weekend...made it up and over San Marcos Pass with no trouble. WITH the A/C even! Cheers.

lol....no bashing here.

Didn't say a manual was better/faster...just said thats what I like. I learned to drive on a manual...tried an auto & hated it....and I've never looked back.

Be careful of dealers jacking prices up too....dealers who follow scion msrp are all selling vehicles for the same price. However, certain dealers are marking their prices up, something which is permissable as long as they post the prices on the web, on the cars, and in the show rooms. Dealers who "throw things in" are also risking losing their allocations. If you find a scion that you like, but it has aftermarket stuff you don't want on it, ask if they'll take it off. Many times they will, sometimes places won't.
Also, shop around...2 months wait on a stick xA sounds kind of extreme.
