Default Bye bye M3 hello XBOX

Well the warranty on the M3 will soon be up and I'm trying to get rid of it like a bad rash. Although a 250hp drop of the daily driver will be a shock the xb simply rocks! I fell in love with it the moment I sat behind the wheel. Finding this forum really helped me chose over the civic and the corolla. Can't wait

Did you drive an XB already? I hope so. I don't know if I could go from an M3 to an XB.

Its an e46 and she'll be missed dearly (minus all the service visits to the dealer). I wanted something reliable (but not vanilla) for my daily commute that makes a statement. For the money nothing comes close to the Xb. Now the search for the weekend warrior begins.

i could. with test driving customer cars in all colors, and SMG transmissions and the sheer speed. it pushes the limit of how fast can you really go. if you dont respect the car the car wont respect you and it will be your grave

Man would I kill for an M3 I think I'd rock a supercharged e36 tho. What kinda use will your weekend warrior get? track time? 1/4? street/strip?

Dude, you got that right! I had an e36 m3 before my xb and I miss that car EVERY STINKIN' DAY!!! There's a lot I like about my xB...don't get me wrong...but the significant difference in power is really hard to get past. The difference in handling is the second difficult thing to get past. Also, the xB gets a lot less respect (if any respect at all ) compared to the M3.

I understand where you're coming from though...for an A-to-B car, the xB is awesome. Very good price to value ratio...that's for sure. And it's a LOT less expensive (both $ and timewise) to maintain.

For the first several months, the nearly $250 extra in my pocket every month made it easy to switch over to the xb, but now that I've had it a year, I wouldn't mind paying that extra $250/mo. to be in an M3 again...if only I could afford it.

It's unreal how many people on this board went from a M3 to the box. I used to own an E30 M3, and still own a E36 M3 Lux package. There's another guy with a E36 M3 on here also, that I know of.

stardoc, why would you want to get rid of yours "like a bad rash"?? I love mine and I couldn't get rid of it to own the xB. I had to have both !! Did your give you problems ?? I never had one problem with either of my M3's. They were as trouble-free as my box is going to be.

I have to say, I think I get more looks when driving the xB, then I do when driving the M3, though !!

The M is a great car (esp. the e30 m30) but not one i would like to own out of warranty. The xb in some ways is the anti-m3 car, and there's something nice about that. Funny how one member on this board said that when they get into the xb their personality changes.

BTW i'm looking to buy a gt3 as my $***box car, hehe.
You're right.....the E30 was great. you had to know how to "drive a car" to drive one of those. It was like a high-strung go-cart.

My personality really changed when I got the xB. I went from knowing all I had to do to be first in line and ahead of the pack in the M3, was hit the gas. Now in the xB, I just hang back and try to get the best gas mileage I can, and watch all the idiots like myself when I am in the M3, pass me. !! Real odd !!
