Default Can XB be driven without the speedo cluster?

I have my cluster out right now because I'm changing the color of the speedometer. Just found out I have to go into work at 3:30AM tomorrow morning for a server repair. If I don't finish up the speedo tonight, am I able to drive the car without reinstalling it?

Will it shift, etc? Obviously I won't see my speed, but will it drive?

Thanks.

Yes it will drive but the computer will show that it was disconnected and you "may"
have a warenty issue latter when you come close to your end of warenty.
It may be a good idea to double check with the dealer,It sure would suck if they said you did it to not add miles on the car to extend your warenty.
They may be able to reset it.

yea, I did the same thing, I went to school without it and when I put it back on, the check engine light was on for almost a week, and I was freaking out, but it turned off before I could take it to the dealership.

How do you go about changing the color of the speedometer and where do you find the things needed to do this?

Well, I actually drove it this morning without the cluster. Seemed like shifting was a little bit off and that it was revving higher around 60-65MPH. My wife was driving my truck and I followed her into work this morning, so that's how I knew my speed. I eventually dropped down to about 55MPH because the engine seemed like it was revving too high.

It'll be all put together again tonight hopefully. I'll post pics of what I did to the speedo when it's finished. Thanks for the replies.

Yup, it's auto. Just got back home. Seemed to be at a higher RPM in 4th, if it even shifted into 4th. I just took it easy and it was fine though.
