CEL,Trac Off,andVSC keeps comes on
My CEL,Trac Offand VSC lights keep comeing on. Took it to the dealer and said the gas cap was leaking so they put a new one on and four days latter there on again. It didnt start till i put my cold air intake on and i put my factory air box back on and it still does it. Do yall think that the MAF sensor is messed up? A new one is 145.00.
First you need to check to see if you cut or pinched any wires. I installed tail lights and the wire on the pass. side harness got smashed between the metal and the bult that holds the light in place. I know you were under the hood, but its a good chance you mite have hit a wire under there(The same lights came on for me)If you find a wire that has this prob, you will need to fix it. You will also need to take the positive and negitive battery termanls off the battery for about 15min or so. This will reset the cpu and the light should go out. If you CANT find a wire, try un hooking the battery anyways and see if the light goes out...if it does and then comes back on later then I would think its something along the lines of a wire and it moved around and touched metal (grounded out) and made the warning light come on! I hope this works for you. let me know.
I have this problem right now also. Just installed the K&N CAI and it's driving me bananas. I've replaced the MAF sensor a couple of days ago and it went away. Today the lights are back on again, took it to the dealership and got a reading code of 171 which is the MAF sensor. Also the technician advised about a "misfiring spark plugs" meaning water had gotten inside causing it to misfire. I checked all 4 spark plugs, blow dried it, even checked the plug wires for any abnormality. I then unplugged my negative and the ECU fuse to reset it. 20 mins. later started the car and VOILA! The lights went away
. I hope they don't come back on again or else I will have to put my stock air box in
This problem resurfaces on threads from time to time. There can be any number of reasons whey those lights come on. I have heard about the gas cap problem before--so I am sure that is a legitamate cause. My problem started with the cold intake installation. It was finally cleared up when I had to have my alternator changed out. Fortunately everything was covered under warranty. Here is a previous thread:

I may spray contact cleaner in the sensor to clean it up and hope that it fixes it. It didnt start till i put my cai on and the lights came on the next day. The sensor dint set good it the hole so that may be my problem.
