changed your fuel filter recently?
Just checking to see who has changed their fuel filter, and at what milage did you do it? Was the filter pretty bad? I've heard change it at 40-60K miles, but I'm thinking sooner is better then later.
Any recommendations, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

..NOT ACCESSIBLE?...
Did I read about the fuel filter being inside the gas tank? Dropping the tank is required to access gas filter. Is that correct?
If so, that may be why no one has replaced one.
If so, I hope that it is a lifetime filter and does not freeze and clog as some 'in-line' filters do.

...Under the rear seat...
That is good news, fuel filter under the rear seat.
So then, when should it be replaced? And how much is the filter?
Hey there Z-Man..... can you link me up to that D.I.Y.?
That smurf box was at Crofton Raceway for the Scion Road Rage Event.
See the monitor on the motor:

I bought my '05 xA with 103,000 mile son it. After reading the DIY cited above I decided to change out my filter. I found that it was discolored (probably from sitting in gasoline all that time) but was clean as a whistle. HOWEVER, in the process I discovered that wires on top of the pump assembly had been worn through by the back seat above it. I remedied that and that, to me, was worth all the effort. Exposed wires near the gas tank - not a good thing.

I think most manufactures might recommend changing fuel filters every 75-100K , however they have a tendency to get all gunked up/fouled up easily. Look at it this way, per hour that your engine is on, the fuel filter cycles through 30 gallons of fuel !!!!
I've been told by real-deal mechanics, knowledgable people, that its a very good idea to change them out every 50-60K, on most cars. If you get your gas at stations that have lots of business, maybe you can get away with going a bit longer in changing out your fuel filter. If you do a lot of traveling, getting gas at stations your not familiar with, then you never know about that gas (sucking gas from the near bottoms of station tanks is where all the crap sediment is located at). Its basiclly a inexpensive mantainence procedure you can do, that your car will love... and roll even more miles in the long run!

Ah btw i was having this vibration issue while idle (in Drive), engine sometimes vibrate so hard that i had to let go of the brake to make it stop. But now i dont have any such issues. While replacing the fuel filter I also replaced all spark plugs with genuine spares and air filter as well..
