Cheap stock tires anywhere?
Its about time to replace a couple of my stock Xb tires but they are so expensive. Its about $120 a tire driveout at Discount Tire everytime I go. Who has the cheapest tires for the Xb?

Cheap stock tires
Tirerack.com is a great site, Vulcantire.com, Treadepot.com I wouldn't go Michelin,Pirelli or Goodyear though. Falken 512, Khumo SPT,AST or ASX even Toyo has a few nice replacements. Check with your local tire shop to see if they'll meet the online price, most often they will. Then you can avoid shipping costs

I got a set of take-offs with wheels from the local Toyota dealer for $200. Sometimes dealers will sell a customer custom wheels and tires and then take their stock ones in.
I went back a couple of weeks ago for another set for our other xB, but Capitol Toyota's parts people changed their tune and were real jerks.

Boy you got real lucky for that set at $200! They have such a markup on everything, somebody must have screwed up giving a price out before checking to see what the manager actually was charging-but maybe you just got a great deal

I know getting them from the online places is cheaper, but you have to get them put on by a tire shop and balanced and all that good stuff.
I always opt for the road hazard warranty as well so that ups the price.

Frogot, in last post, but thats what I was talking about when I was saying to ask the local shops if they'll meet the price, and in this economy they should be more willing to at least bargain but Wheel works here said that they would have matched the online price-after I paid for shipping, then you get the mount/balance and warranty

Someone else already said it, but craigslist. There is almost ALWAYS someone selling their factory steelies with OEM tires already mounted and balanced. Got my first replacement set for $150, and the last for $200 but they only had 500 miles on them (off of a Yaris)
