Who the heck rigged up the stick shift on the dash? What a pain in the flippin neck that must have been....

The stickshift kinda reminds me of a Suicide shift on an old Harley. or the "Bombs Away" lever on a WW2 Aircraft.

#3 the dash shifter I would say is the EZ part of that build (2 cables to tranny) merc sprinter vans have them and ^NO bombs dropped ^

That makes me wonder if anyone has done the length chop. Back when I was on the VW scene I thought that the shortened Type-2 bus and Type-4 things were excellent looking. Anyone shorten an xB by about the length of the rear doors and make it into a 2 door?
