Default Specs for hood dampners

I'm thinking of getting some hood dampners, but not paying 180 for Teins. I'm betting I can make it work off the OEM replacements that Checker has in stock. Just seeing if anyone has tried, before I go test fitting stuff.

Thanks!

Redline.com has a nice set for around $90, including all hardware. I put sound deadener on my hood, and was thinking that it may be too heavy for the dampeners. Not the case. I payed a little more because I wanted "All Black". So a normal set is probably around 75-80. Even their heavy duty ones are even far under $180. My cardomain site shows a pic of them. Luv the dampeners. Enjoy the xB.

ya, but im talking about using dampners in stock at checker. anyone have a model number or measurements on the hood dampners they already have?

I'm really thinking these are a basic part that sell for more because someone has figured out how to fit them to a hood.

I would also like to know the size of them. I am sure that basically any size would do the job given the wieght of the hood. But if someone would like to measure them that would be great. Fully extended and collapsed. Thanks.

The ones I have (redlines) are 20" mounting peg to mounting peg. Actual shaft legnth exposed before you come to mounting fitting is 8-1/4". Collapsed, but when mounted, 2" of that 8-1/4" is not used. Don't know if they are basically all the same, but these mount back out of the way.and they hold of extra weight of the rubber sound insulation. Hope this is the info you were looking for.
