i know the feeling i won more trophys when i first started then the more stuff i did the less attention it seemed to get, i guess it was because everyone is impressed with the ___ lambo doors and not anything customs, sometimes i think people dont know a nice car if it bit them in the a$$, im tired of people winning first because they have lambo doors, and some crappy macco paint job with dirt and more runs then after i eat taco bell.....honestly i havent showed in more then a year now, and i dont know if i will or not because of this either

 

Amen. And there shouldn't be a stock car class unless it's 20 years old or older. I mean... you've hit rock bottom in life if you're judging (or entering) a car show for stock 1999 Nissan Altima's.

 

It doesn't matter if you win by a paint chip or a scratch winnin is winnin!

anyway, there are alot of different ways to judge a car, and some things you mentioned, like the rag top aren't very common that i've heard of.

also, yeah stock cars can beat modified cars. i read a story in a car magazine about a guy who rented a shelby gt-h from hertz and while on his vacation with the car, entered it in a car show and won because it drew the most attention. did the guy put on a good show? play better music? babes wearing almost no clothes?

 

No matter what, it's just a show. People go to shows all too often expecting to win, and thats their downfall. Mod for youself, for the enjoyment of working on your car. Go to a show recognizing the fact that yeah, your car might look the best to you, but to everony else, who knows. People look for different things. To me, a nice interior will sell me, but others, its lambo doors. It can really be anything, and that comes to the judges, too.

You may not like what i'm saying, but, it's my belief. I've got a little over 3 grand invested into my car at the moment, and I'm yet to win a show. It's not a lot of money, comparatively to others, but even if I had 20K invested, I stil couldn't expect to win.

Like I said, do it for love, not trophies.

 

yea i do mods that i like,thats why i did chrome instaed of gumetal or alum. to be kinda diferent. but ust is kinda frustarting its like the judges dont show ne respect to the people that are blowing all this money in aftermarket parts which in my opinion is keeping them in work.yes man i respect everyones opinion thanks for all the comments guys. Yea maybe next time i will put a **** in and turn on all the tvs maybe the judges will like that!lol
