Default did you buy an xB because....?

...you were looking for a vehicle that would help curb how many court appearances you go to for speeding?

*raises hand*

No, but it is good for that.

I go 80mph on the way to work, so it helps that the xB looks slow.

Well not really... But I did trade in a 180hp Matrix XRS

I never got speeding tickets, but then again, I never drove fast at all!

That's why i traded it, didn't need the power, just the cargo space.

The xB has more space and looks better! Who cares if it's slow :D

I have a sport bike so I could drive a 1963 VW bus and it wouldenr curb my appearances in court for speeding..

I used to drive a modified WRX, so yes, and because it was just plain cheaper.

Well, you could get a speeding ticket in a Yugo if you drove it fast enough... You don't need 400,000,000 hp to get tickets...

So to answer the original post again.... No.

You can get speeding tickets in anything. I felt a lot more under the radar in my Echo or Toyota pickups. The Box draws attention regardless of the speed you're going and since there's so few around is harder to blend in.

So far, no tickets in the Box... (knocking on wood) although I'm probably eligible for one whenever I'm behind the wheel  I only need 3 more units to get my Master's Degree in Traffic School...

I got it for some very practical, adult reasons like that it can carry the stuff I need to carry and so forth, but also because it looks really cool.

As for speeding, I agree with the others that you can get tickets in anything. If I drive the xB down a residential street at 40mph and a cop sees me do it I think there will be trouble. (if I drive 85 on Detroit freeways I simply blend in with everyone else).

But I bet the box reflects a healthy signal back to a radar gun! (anyone know how the box stacks up on the subject of radar signatures?)

I actually got it so I could get the attention of police. It worked! I landed a speeding ticket 2 months after I got the Box. My first in 4 years.

A year later, I got tired of it and crashed it into a Saturn. I never liked Saturns anyway.

Ahhhh, my ol' XB. Those were the days.

THAT was the first real laugh I have had in a long time.

I got the Box because...

Well, it's ugly. And ugly rules.

(I am sure there are more realish reasons, but that will do.)

I got mine for leg room. price. options looks. reliability. (in no particular order).

in my old '84 topaz and I got pulled over two different times on residential streets goin around 40 :D .

the xB is a huge change for me, power everything, a CD player (that I don't need a dinky cassette adapter for ;) ), and in my topaz the speedometer only went up to 85, I barely ever took it past 80 casue the engine noise was unbearable, the xB does 80 no problem compared to that. Plus I go to school in AZ and go home for the summer so it has nice storage room for that, and it came with AC standard...all the other manufacturers it had to be added.

I just think it was a really good value. i guess

I bought mine because I wanted a small wagon with decent handling and fun-to-drive factor and reasonable passenger room. There are few choices in that department in the U.S. market. I tried them all and the xB came closest to meeting all my requirements and on top of that it was $1000's cheaper than anything else I considered and got better fuel mileage.

Easy decision.

I don't actually have it yet, but the main reason is because i am looking at retiring my beater, and i want an inexpensive but cool looking daily driver so i dont run my bug into the ground commuting.

As for speeding tickets? Hmm.. the best way to avoid those is get a nice set of *****

j/k
lmao
