I have Hot Lava number 4 Automatic. I recently drove a 5 Speed with the short TRD stick and really liked it. Should I sell number four and get a higher number 5 Speed? What do you people think?

I agree. granted the 5speed would be more fun at times, having #4 is preety sweet!

With all you've done to #4, you'd loose your shirt to sell/trade it for a 5spd. Might be cheaper to trade out trannys

Good point. Might want to look into a tranny swap. It probably wouldn't be that expensive. Since you are dropping it you might as well change out the flywheel, clutch and shifter at the same time.

Try to find someone with an RS1 5-Speed, and see if they'll swap complete CARS with you.

Surely you'll lose a lot of money on this deal? Keep the 4

In the long run, how much value will #4 really have? Unlike many "special edition" cars, there is really nothing functionally different with the HL series. Going forward two or three decades, will a collector really value HL #4 over, say, HL#1004?

I'd say, get the car that you like, particularly if you intend to sell it in a few years.

i've heard that just the 5 speed tranny (no shifter, pedals, etc.) is $9,000.00

What do you not own #4 either? What is your excuse now? Toyota recalled it? So now you want an manual instead of auto. If you do get it you will now have been the proud owner of #1, #4 and #who cares.

If you can find a 5 speed Hot Lava, go for it. Otherwise...stick with the 4 speed monkey-shifted Hot Lava

get the 5 speed. in a few years the number plaque on your car wont really mean that much as it may now. hehe...or to me it doesn't matter as long as the car was built good. besides you like the 5-speed better anyways.
