I recently looked at the RAZO RA91 which has an overdrive button but, it requires a threaded post which I am not sure of on my Box. Any help would be appreciated.

I have been looking for awhile especially through Options and Nopi and haven't been able to find anything. I don't think one has been made yet. Other shift ***** may have an overdrive button but you have to make sure the placement is correct.

 

 

The **** made by Razo should work. Cheshire cat bought it from Island Motorsports in Buena Park CA.

Yes, that is my xA in the picture.

The shifter is called the Razo Super Gun. There are 3 styles that I have seen :

Chrome

Titanium

Carbon Fiber

The overdrive trigger is very tiny, just below the main button. Make sure that whoever installs it knows what they are doing. It can be tricky if you've never done it before.

Retail price is around $130, but I saw the Carbon Fiber at Super Autobacs for $180.

 

Just put a Hurst polished aluminum T-handle in my xB. Love it! Old school, baby...

On another note, I heard a funny comment about the xB from a friend. He said:

"It looks like the box it came packaged in."

Did you do the install yourself? The stick looks great! Is it taller than it started out? When you removed the origianl stick were there threads or did you have to apply an adapter or something? Do you like the way it performs?

rjsalvi: that Hurst shifter looks wicked! Do you have any pictures of your set-up? Did you do the full-on shifter box with the t-handle? Did you do your own install and if so was it easy? Very impressive if so...if not where did you get the work done?

I think the thing about the RA91 needing a threaded post was a misprint. I couldn't find any install instructions for the RA91 online but similar Razo shift ***** seem to use adapters (for different manufacturers' shift columns) and set screws. Looks like the overdrive button leads get spliced into the existing wiring, and I think I saw something about trimming the shift column in case the shift lock rod isn't long enough. I'll find out after I get mine, I guess :D

I wasn't able to find any install info for the RA91 either. Are you installing in an xA or xB? I am starting to really like my auto xB. I thought I might have to get the manny trans for the whole "drivers' experience" thing since, I drove a Suzuki Samurai for almost 16 years. Man, I love that car and am finding it hard thinking it won't be around too much longer. I am donating him to a charity that trains people to be machanics...I guess this is me dealing with having to give up my ride that took me through almost half my life...I guess that's a diffrent post altogether, eh?

Anyways, I can't wait to hear more about your install. I also hope to hear more about rjsalvi's Hurst install. Man, that is a really Terminator (oldskool) looking shifter!

In answer to your questions:

No, I had help. There is some wiring involved, so make sure you know what you are doing.

It's probably about the same height. Give or take an inch or 2.

There are no threads, it slides right on.

It performs pretty well. It does take some getting used to.
