cold weather maybe? i know my drivers door sticks when its really cold. i read something a long time ago about people bringing them back to the dealer to get the plastic shaved down. i just open my rear door or hit unlock like 6 times and it eventually pops up.

My driver side lock sticks when I'm trying to LOCK it. Really annoying. Because I have to unlock-lock-unlock-lock, etc. a million times before it finally goes down. I can't just walk away from my car and lock it with the remote without visually verifying that lock went down. Otherwise the alarm will be armed, but that door will still be unlocked. Unlike the rest of the doors.

door lock actuators might need replacing.

If my driver side door is the only door I have issues with, am I correct in assuming that each door has it's own actuator?

yes each door has it's own actuator

you know...back in the day
people had to actually push and pull the door locks open and closed with their hands or keys

ya it never seems to be the same door that sticks! most often it seems like its the front drivers door and the front passenger door!

i think mine came with a key. wait ... yep it did. try the key a couple of times and see if that doesnt fix the problem. or take the door panel off and silcon spray the crap out of the mechanism.

To add to this,

On mine, when I hit the door unlock button on the drivers door control panel at the exact same time as she is pulling the pass. door handle, it puts the pass door lock like into some sort of intermittent mode. Where it is kind of stuck between locked and unlocked, and nothing you do will get it to unlock. The key from the outside doesn't even work.

Very dangerous Toyota !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you listening Mr. Toyoda?????

I think it has something to do not with the locking actuator, with with the handle itself. I found if you re-lock the door, the work the handle a few times, the try locking and un-locking with the switch, it will eventually "get back into time" and work just like new again.

This is bad, and now it seems worse because other say the same thing. I thought it was just me.

Have you checked the battery?
It may be on its way out.
