Driver's Door Side Sun Visor
I saw a post complaining about the xB sun visor that only covers half the window. I also saw what some owners were willing to put up with to hack together a solution. So, I thought I would see how many people might be interested in what I did. Here is my reply to other thread. Let me know what you think.
Thanks,

I got so tired of sun on the side of my head going to and from work, I created my own solution for my xB. I took off the handle above the driver door and mounted it in the same holes. It has it's own hinge and folds down like a normal visor only it extends about 3 more inches than the normal visor. Works great.
This is not a commercial or add but, is there a market for something like this? Considering that it is designed specifically for the xB door handle mounts, what would you pay for one?
Thanks,

It's either I'm lost because I need a pic to explain or I'm in a rush so I scanned through what you read.
Pretty cool that you did something about it.
Going to the Central Florida Toyota Scion Show on OBT? Few miles away from the Florida Mall? This Saturday the 9th, 7pm for registration. Free if youre interested/or didn't know about the show. :D

Hey thanks for answering. I guess I need a pic. Got to find a site to host the pics. Probably put my xB up with it. I looked at yours. The girl is as sweet as the car.
I got my xB from Central Fl Scion. Great place. They made it way too easy to buy the car. They gave me $2000 for my trade without ever seeing it. The blue book on the trade was $1895. If fact, it was actually at a Dodge dealer getting a water pump put on when I signed for the xB.
Trouble with putting up a picture is if I actually have a decent idea, the whole world will have it too when they see the pic. Still researching the idea.

Well, that is exactly what I have done. But what seems like a better idea is an adapter that allows you to mount a another passenger side visor where the door handle mounts. If you had to get the 3rd visor from the dealer, would you bother with it at all?
I don't think anyone would sacrafice their passenger side visor ... of course, unless they were a loner.

I would rather have something that looked more like it was made to be there than something like a passenger sun visor. Does that make sense? I want something that just goes at least the length of the window and flips down on a hinge and replaces that useless handle. It could be made out of 1/4 hardboard and wrapped in cotton batting for some padding and then wrapped in either a light vinyl or cloth material.
