Ok This may be a dumb quesiton but does a little blue light come on every time you start your car?? I looked in the manual and I think it means that the engine is cold? Is that right? Also do you like my picture??? So Lonely and Sadly Alone.

Does the manual say you shouldn't drive until it is out or just to drive easy until the engine comes up to temperature? I would read my own manual but I haven't even bought one yet!

 

As far as I can tell it does not say not to drive it. I will ask the UN weapons inspectors next time they stop by my palace. I wonder if the weaons of mass destruction have these kewl little blue lights too????

 

It's just the cold engine light. We have no engine temp gauges, so they put that little light there.

its not a big deal, but if it ever turns red, then you have a problem.

 

i try to keep shifting at 3k rpm and none more, and accelerate smooth and subtle till the light turns off.. it's like the needle of an analog gauge being at the "C" all the way..the light goes away at 'normal operating temperature'

 

I have an automatic and it's wont go into high gear until the light goes off. Guess engine temp has to reach a certain level before it goes off. I try to idle for a minute before taking off whenever possible.

Hey what is werid is that I searched to see if anyone had asked my dumb quesiton before I asked it too.....very helpfull info especially NOT letting your car idle to warm up....better to drive it at low rpms.

 

The purpose of this post is only to see what my signature looks like attached

 

The light is to indicate that the motor is cold and when the motor is warmed up the light goes away.
