Default ...E-BAY RIP OFF MOD.....

The ad looks great. An XB oil cap that gleems with crome. The studio close-up does not tell the whole story.

Yes, I would buy that....... unless I knew the whole story.
This item is a dollar store reject. They were all made so that when tightened down all the way, the XB is upside down. No way that you can change it, it is upside-down in every XB that installs it. Live and learn. I got exactly what I paid for, $15plus$8shipping.
I would have never bought this item if I knew what I am about to tell you...
IT'S UPSIDE DOWN!!

Now that you know, I hope I saved you some cash.

My Injen one was the same way. I had to mod the gasket so it pointed right when tight.

At least with this one, the emblem can just be removed and reapplied the right direction.

This is what you get for buying an aftermarket oil cap.

I've been wanting a clear hood since I put on my clear fuel door. :D

Thanks for the heads-up xbhawk and the potential fixes from everyone. Good to know.

sorry, had to revive this old thread!

Same thing just happened to me even though I saw this thread and I knew to be carefull.

I bought aluminum "sciontech" caps on ebay and the logo on the oil filler cap is upside down! Apparently this is a common problem. I need to try it on a tC and see if it's correct.

At least the power steering and brake fluid caps that came with it (which were what I really wanted in the first place) are just held on with 3M tape so I can line them up right!

Besides being upside down, and being shown on a tC instead of an xB I think, they are very nice and I like them a lot!

I got one from sscionsuperstore.com And the threads are not even the right size, the ones on the cap are about 3/4 inches smaller than the one on the motor.

I wish it was that easy with mine... the logo is etched. I'll have to try replacing the gasket.

kewlbox... I'm surprised ssuperstore would mess up like that. I've always had good dealings with them. I hope they corrected it!

It worked for my Injen oil cap. I swaped seals with the OEM cap and then it lined up better.
