Default Engine alarms/codes

I just had my rack and pinion replaced tonight by a mechanic friend of mine at work. I bought my 2005 XB as a salvage that was 'fixed' for the most part. It did have a kink in the steering, which is why I bought a new R&P. He just phoned me to say it was alarming after about 40 MPH, with the light showing a car with 'squiggly lines'. He went over everything again, have the proper amount of power steering fluid in....I didn't get a manual with the car, so I am clueless. ANyone have experience with this particular alarm/code light? Or can you point me to a knowledgable person who can help? I don't have a Scion dealer in my town, in fact it is over 200 miles in any direction to a Scion dealer.

Sounds like it ia something with the stability control. mayby one of the sensors on one of the wheels is reading wrong.
When one wheel is going at a different speed this will go off.

I had him disconnect the batt cable for 15 minutes, then hook it back up. He said it didn't come back on, so we'll see. I will pick it up tomorrow, then see for myself. I really need to get a service manual! Next, I need an alignment and new tires and hopefully it will be a bit smoother. Right now, the front tires are shot, & it needs an alignment. I love the **** outta this thing, despite the harsh ride since I bought it. Can't wait to get it smooooth. Thanks for the reply and any future replies about this. Thanks guys!
