I got a autolöc flamethrower kit for the free today and am hoping someone here has installed one and can help me out. Does anyone know how to install the kit. Let me know.
The way they set these things up it just seems like a really bad idea. The tech behind it is that it interrupts your ignition signal to one of the cylinders periodically. The unburnt air / fuel mixture then gets pushed into the exhaust stream and ignited at the exhaust tip via another spark plug mounted in the tailpipe.
It's set up to cause your engine to intentionally misfire, and that can't be good for the engine. A dedicated injector recessed in the tailpipe would work, or propane, i.e. run a seperate fuel supply to the tailpipe as long as the injection port could take the heat of the exhaust.
Also, this pretty much screams rice since the original intent was for them to replicate the look of high-octane and nitro cars. The real cars run so rich to stave detonation that the unburnt mixture will ignite from exhaust pipe temperature and introduction to atmosphere upon exiting the pipe. It's kind of like putting the exhaust whistle in to make it sound like you have a turbo.

you can set up a seperate coil and distributor to work off a push button...that will not interupt your ignition in the least
the big problem is getting enough fuel to the tailpipe..since these boxes run pretty clean.and making it run rich is not a good option..
propane is one way..
