glad your ok.

the airbags work at ANY speed. if their is no fault in the airbag control module (ACM) the bags will deploy "IF"

1. the impact is so severe it hits a sensor and does not trigger the G-Force airbag sensor

2. if its a lo speed impact but you stop suddenly, (rear ender @ low speeds and it moves the G force sensor, it will deploy.
You can have no exterior damage, maybe a scratch or a messed up license plate but the impact will send the g-force sensor a signal to the ACM and set the bag(s) off.

do you know what it cost to replace an airbag, and labor and shipping for the new airbag?

Airbags are rated as explosive's and the supplier has to pay extra for shipping the explosive, plus labor for replacing whats damaged, then cost of the bag alone (depending on the model) My focus airbags, winshield, bumper cover bumper, cost over 4500 to repair. the car was driveable and undamaged on the outside except for stress cracks in the bumper and a messed up front plate.

P.S.

i see a nice red X where your pics are
