Default A few pictures of my box (56k ok, I suppose)

I finally got the sideskirts for the Tsunami kit I bought from Gothbox on, and gave my xB a much-needed bath. It's a nice day, so I got a few quick pictures. I'm thinking about going down to the pier to get more at some point this weekend (maybe tomorrow evening).

I actually really like the body kit in flat black. Of course, the side skirts took some creative engineering, and I still can't figure out a good way to mount my front license plate. Luckily, the car was originally sold in Florida, so there aren't holes haphazardly drilled in the front bumper.

Also featured: my new set of Kumhos. They're only 195s on the stock wheels, but they fill out the car a bit better than the awful 185s.

A few weeks ago, my girlfriend asked how much money I've sunk into this car (I bought it in February of this year), and I had to tell her she doesn't want to know. I am thinking about a set of DF210s next time I splurge on something for the car.

They're hubcaps: http://www.mooneyesusa.com
I also have a Moon shift ****, stickers on the doors, door-lock-pulls for the back seat release, and grille emblem.

The flat black paint looks goofy in full sun, I'll admit. On normal gray days, or in the shade, it looks decent, and pretty much matches the trim around the windows and whatnot. I was actually considering painting a lip kit with bedliner, before I ended up buying this one. I can always go back and get a real paint job on it, anyway.

You haven't had any problems with a moon disk falling off?

Not at all. They're the actual Moon brand, not the JC Whitney knockoffs. They're unbelievably tight-fitting -- I actually need a claw hammer to take them off. Granted, the set of them is something like $135, but it's worth it to not have them fly off in traffic.

The right (passenger) one fit better. Both required some ingenuity with a hacksaw. on my part to actually get them on. The kit is fiberglass, and Gothbox did tell me that he had some issued with the side skirts too. He bought the kit used himself, actually, so there's about a few holes already in them. Ultimately, I managed to get them on with by mounting the front of both with a christmas tree panel clip through one of the holes holding the fender liner on, and the back with brackets held onto the body via the bolts that held the OEM skirts. I won't win any concours trophies, but it looks decent, and they aren't going anywhere.

As for other comments: perhaps I'll forgo springs, in favor of paint. It definitely wouldn't hurt. Yes, I'm cheap. We'll see-- I had to pay for a birthday present for the woman, because I can't spend all of my money on the xB right at the moment. I've only had the car for three and a half months, and I've already gone mod-crazy.

Haha, thanks, man.

I am after sort of a salt-flat/dry-lake-car look. Naturally, this is totally appropriate with a vehicle shaped like a cinder block.

Thanks! The front lip fit great, and the rear took some minor fiddling. The side skirts consumed a whole morning of lying under the car (always great when your driveway is slanty dirt) before I solved them, but it worked out well.

I'm happy with the 195s. The added width looks right, especially with the Moon discs. It's just as well, the only tires that come in 185/60 are absolute crap, anyway.

this is the only thing the stock tires are good for.

Luckily the xB comes with low bumpers already.

You should paint the skirts though!
