Free CD CHANGER????
i wanna find out how do u guys get the free cd changer from your dealers?
last time i went on to scion.com live chat with one of their rep.
he told me the promotion is for the last 2000 produced xA for 04....and i asked him how do i kno if im qualify for that? the answer is go find out from the dealer u bought the car from...they can look up the VIN and tell me if im qualify
so i went to the dealership - piercy toyota today, and kindly asked them see if my xA is qualify or not, but the guy said he never heard of anything like this and was kept saying that he's not gonna give me a free cd changer...the guy kept telling the rep. from scion.com was bullsh*t.......and told me to call scion corp. again.
i wanna know whats going on and anybody had experience getting free cd changer???

If you've already purchased the car (and it doesn't have it), you're SOL. They're not gonna throw in one (unless you pay for it). I think there's a thread discussing this...
I've talked to a couple of dealers about this, and apparently, the factory has thrown in the CD changer to the last run of the 2004's. Some of the dealers suspect this is to help move the last of the 2004's as the 2005's are right around the corner.
Anyway, this will show up on your sticker as "Complimentary 6-disc CD Changer". If it's not on the sticker, they won't (and according to them, they CAN'T) throw in the changer.
If you're purchasing a new Scion, you can call the dealer and ask them to check the sticker - and see if they have any 2004 models with the "Complimentary 6-disc CD Changer". That's what I did - and I have a new 2004 Phantom Gray xA with 6-disc CD changer.
Sorry bBted, you're out of luck.

I just purchased a 2004 Scion xA and it come with the 6 disc upgrade. It did state on the invoice that it was a "complimentary 6 disc changer." The 2004 xA we purchased 3 mos. ago did not come with a 6 disc changer.

I'm sure that *some* dealers will treat their customers "right" if they believe that customer will come back time and time again for servicing. YMMV.
I didn't buy a single option for my xA - so I suspect the dealer will think that I'm super-cheap - and will do everything myself. These are known in marketing as the "lead" customers - who bring little profit to the dealership. You want to be a "gold" customer - one who brings in high, incremental profit every year to expect the white glove treatment...
You have to give something to get something. Maybe if you reassure your dealer that you will bring back the car for ALL the major check-ups, he might oblige you?

KJ Scion in Springfield VA has been giving the free changer for all their 2004's. As long as it says so on their site and they do it for all of them, they can do it. cliffy1 mentioned that Scion didn't take care of the 2004s already in their inventory that didn't have them, so they added them to all of the 2004's xA's.
Jason, the way it's worded, it not 100% clear whether you are saying that you paid for the side air bag options or got them free also like you did the changer. I assume that you paid for the side air bag option, but in that case, why was it mentioned? Now, it would have been funny if you said you also got a free tank of gas and tires with the car.
well i paid for the side air bags, although i didnt request them, but i got the stereo for free.
it equaled out *shrugs*
i did get a tank of gas, and they almost forgot to give me my hub caps (which i didnt want ;))
