I was going to get the 2005 xB this week. I read today that the 2006 xB will have the iPod integration. I use my iPod a lot especially when driving long distances. I called around to the dealers and they said that they should have them int he next 2-4 weeks. I'm not in a hurry to get a car so I'm going to wait for the 2006. One dealer offered that I put $100 down nd they'll call me when the first 2006 xB in my color and everything gets there. I figure it's worth it to put down a deposit and just get the 2006. Thoughts? I guess it's best to get the latest car. Why get a 2005 when I can wait a few weeks for the 2006.

 

Go for it.. as long as you dont mind waiting and bit and you get the option you want I so go for it!!

What color are you thinking of getting?

 

Wait if you can and definitely put some cash down on the color/transmission you want. I'd love to have the Shadow Mica color...

xB nutt: what's the shadow mica color? i don't think it's on the website. i was going to get black but shadow mica sounds like a grey slate color. any photos of it anywhere? thanks!

I wanted a 2006 for the same reason but because I am impatient and found what I think is the right one for a real good price I am going to try to swap the radios when the 06 models arrive.

 

the 06 radios use a different harness than the 05's

 

They also make aftermarket radios that work with iPods...

I've been waiting quite impatiently for the '06 to roll out

I was told that they should be here around mid July, already put my $500 deposit on a dark blue 5 speed

The iPod integration kit will cost $240 with installation, I am definetly not spending the money just for that. I am planning to get mine bone stock with zero options.

 

I called 4 dealers. All of them said that they should have the 06's in the net 2-4 weeks. I hope that's accurate. If I needed a car today I'd buy the 2005 but since I don't it's probably better that I wait for the 2006. It will give me time to start ordering wheels and other addons. LOL.

I asked if I could get the iPod piece done if I bought a 2005 but they said what hotbox said and that you can't. I guess I could buy a different stereo or something but I'm not that familiar w/stereos, what would fit nicely and also cleanly integrate w/an IPod so for me it may be better to go factory.

 

Gah... I just bought mine about 8 weeks ago; kinda wish I would've waited. But I was too impatient... oh well. Then again, I wouldn't have gotten BCP (it's being discontinued).

this dealership is very reputable around the area, they didn't even have a xB for me to test drive because they simplely weren't able to keep any on the lot. they are gone as soon as they arrive

 

i've called 4 dealerships to ask when the 06's will be in...i did this to gauge what each of them said. all of them had various ideas of when they will be in but what i believe to be the most reputable said that they get their allotments on the 20th of this month(twice a month - once at the beginning and once at the end) and he thought they may see the 06's on the july 20th allotment but probably not. he said that once they see the 06's ont he allotment it will then be 4-6 weeks. he said it could be late august or even september. he said that in the case that even when the 06's say they will arrive if there are still 05's at the shipping yard and not processed that they then have to process the 05's before they will process the 06's which then will add another two weeks. ie, they could come in the second week fo august but b/c there are 05's still on the docks we actually won't see the 06's untilt he end of august. it seems to be a srapshoot right now and nobody knows for sure.
