Default Hako redux

I saw that the mention of the Hako coupe was met with cries of "lock this thread", but just because something is "old news" doesn't mean a reasonable discusion can't be continued.

Honestly I applaud Scion for thinking outside the box (literally) again. I have a pair of 06 xB's and I'd consider purchasing a Hako if it remains true to the concept car's theme. I think it is an ideal companion to a 1st generation xB.

I'm actually quite surprised that it isn't better received by the hardcore Scionists like us. Different can be good, (e.g. 1st gen xB). In my opinion, this could be another iconic car for Scion.

If Scion management does pay attention to our SL community, (as I'd like to think they do), I encourage them to continue to design and build economical, stylish, cutting-edge vehicles for those of us that don't wish to drive cookie-cutter cars.

Oh, and Scion, if you're listening, put me on the list for a Polar White Hako and please move forward with the xT mini-pickup. I promise I'll be good this year. Okay, I'll try to be good this year.

I thought it was interesting reading one comment about the age of those who seemed to like the Hako concept car. The comment was that it was people older than the targeted age group at which Scion is aiming. Nonetheless, the Hako to me has the quirkyness of the original xB--for those of us who do not like to drive 2 door coupes that all look the same. Maybe the windshield is not practicle as is, but it is after all just a concept. If Scion is going to be different it needs to not come out with products like the xB2 that are more like SUVs or Mini Vans.

Thanks, Dave. That was the point I was trying to make. Even if some of us older than the target demographic Scion is trying to reach, it shouldn't matter. We have the means to purchase the vehicles they offer. I will continue to do so as long as they offer economical, cutting-edge styled and most of all, reliable vehicles.

Scion, leave it to General Motors to stamp out the cookie-cutter cars. Take advantage of Toyota reliability and the freedom a small-quantity nameplate like Scion allows to offer love-it-or hate-it cars.

The thread was locked because we don't need 37 threads about the same thing. If you'd like to have a discussion about the Hako, please do it here.

I only found two other threads about the Hako. I didn't feel like going through 28 pages of replies on the last thread to put in my two cents. I thought this was an open forum for people interested in all things Scion, sorry to inconvenience you.
