Default Hello, newbie here!

Just wanted to say hi! I recently joined here, although I've had a 2005 XB as my company car for a little over a year now. I'm pretty lucky to get such a cool car for work, where as most people get a Ford Taurus or something. My company wanted to get me something youthful, different, and effienent. I keep it at home with me, it's pretty much my own car. They did some graphics on it, the best part being the flames that fade colors. So in the year I've had it, I've clocked 52,000 miles on it. Its been 100% trouble free, and I have grown very attached to it, and brings me to why I joined here. I'll probably be one of your high mileage posters...my company wants to see how many miles we can put on it until something major happens. That didn't stop them from buying 3 more xb's last month. I'll get some pics up soon...[/img]

Be prepared for a long journey. I'm expecting 300k plus outta mine. It must be nice to use it for work. I drive my own E350 for a living about 60/70 k a year and would love to be able to spend that much time behind the wheel of an xB instead, so I'm truely jealous Bro! Ride on at work if you can call it that. lol

Wow! 52k in one year?! I thought my 20k was a lot. It's nice to hear that I can expect a trouble free experience if I treat my box right. Welcome man.

Welcome aboard jc3057, I'm a newcomer myself , only been around scionlife for a couple months, and it's already been super helpful especially with the tech sections. And everyone seems to want to really help out if you ever have any question scion related or otherwise, I think it's great here!

P.S. Thanks to all you on SL for being so helpful with the mods and problem solving! I haven't officially introduced myself or posted that much because there's so much information already available that I don't need to ask questions.

Thanks jethro, it's nice to know there are other people who are willing to help others out just because. By the way, I like the color scheme of your interior! ;)

We do web site management for auto dealers. So I drive the Xb to around 20 different dealerships throughout the week. So all the miles I have put on this thing have only been from Monday-Friday driving. It's never used on the weekends. So the graphics on the side are color fading flames, as well as the logo for our website. I was the first to get an xb, they wanted to see how well one worked before starting to switch our fleet of Town & Country vans over to the xb. Last month they purchased 3 more Xb's because of how well mine has worked so far. My plans are to buy this one from my boss after about 140,000 miles, which should not even take two years to do.
Here's a pic, taken a few months ago....

You might wanna plan on making a purchase a little sooner than 2 years, since they're not gonna make them anymore. I wonder what the next version is gonna look like. I keep reading it's supposed to be longer, I hope not.

Oh sorry, I read the post wrong, you were hoping to buy the current one you're driving after 140k, not a new one after that many miles. Sorry

lol That sounds like your dad can probably write off the xb purchase as a business expense even if it was a gift for you? Hmm...I have to start my own business and buy xb's and get tax writeoffs for them. But first I have to win the lotto, ooh then I can start a limo xb service

Well then it's cool for you...getting to drive a cool car "for work" and then do the tax stuff...I don't know a thing about taxes and write-offs really, I have someone else do them. But I know write-offs are good. But getting to have an xB as your work vehicle sounds even better!
