Default HELP! Car Accident

Hi!, whew!! long day!

I got into an accident this morning... !! and I need help and suggestions

Well... My whole front bumper got ripped off by a truck's rear fender (which didnt have much damage by my eyes..., just a dent on the right rear fender) no engine bay damage.. but my bumper was ripped out real hard, so my left headlight's bottom got cracked too and also my front left fender with a big ol dent the beginning impact was between the left front fender and bumper, so i'm not sure if there is damage to door or hood..... Also i am getting an estimate tuesday....

Any suggestions of what might i do???

i have a 500 deductible... so what about a aftermarket front bumper???? any cheap or cost effective way to fix this????

Well I can tell you this regaurding the front bumper.... if you get an aftermarket (which I dought is available) bumper- its still costs the same to repaint, so your better off in the long run to buy a scion bumper. the body shop that buys one will get a discount anyways. from reading your thread- your bumper will most likely be 500+ to replace/paint, fender is around 150-200 painted, headlamp is around 100+..... add it all up and add labor and other various clips and stuff, I would not dought your batting around 1000-1200.

I got in a simuar accident in my Focus, and it was 2200 because thier was some alignment issuses as well as a OEM rim which was $220!

was the accident your fault? if not, i would get it fixed to factory specs and have the trucks insurance pay for it. if not, i owuldnt even file the claim if you have a 500 ded. I was under the impression that insurance companies wouldnt pay for aftermarket parts?

Were you by chance on the right side of the truck :?: Everyone knows that trucks need to swing wide to make right hand turns because they have a big blind spot on that side of the truck. Left side is no problem because they can see just fine there. I drive a truck and some guy in a brand new Expedition decided he was gonna pass me on the right side in the rain as I was making a right hand turn. Needless to say I watched him slide under the side of my truck, ripping his grill, hood, light, and front fender off his brand new truck. I just shook my head and then laughed my ___ of as the cop gave him a long talk about the way things work with trucks because the cop saw the whole damn thing. My truck was noty hurt at all .
