HELP!!!! Gauges/Brake Lights
Okay so my night starts. Brake lights in the tails go out, I replace the bulbs. Then nothing in the back of the car illuminates after that. So i replace the 10 amp fuse #20 in the owners manual in the driver bottom left (TAIL 10 A: Tail lights, Parking lights, and License plate lights). Then everything works, drive car around the block, fine. Then I notice that the tail lights dont illuminate when I hit the brakes, and they are only on if the headlights are on, so thats wrong. Also the VSC, TRAC OFF and ABS light stays lit on the dash now.
Im stumped. Can anyone help? Is there a brake light relay or something that sends a signal to the tail lights when the pedal is pressed? If so, possibly that went bad?

Check your center brake light bulb. I had switched mine over to LED and cause it didn't draw enough juice (like it was burnt out) those lights all came on and my cruise would quit working. I guess it was a way of the car telling you the bulb is burnt out.
One of my taillights quit working and the driving light would go out when I hit the brakes as well. I couldnt figure out what was wrong but earlier that day, I dropped in some "super bright" non-LED bulbs in the side markers. When I switched them back to the stockers, the taillight returned to normal.
VERY odd, I know, and I STILL cant figure out why that would happen, but I decided to pass the info along to you anyway.

our car has a weird electrical system. it ended up being that the fuse panel in the driver foot well, the bottom fuse on the far right the 10 amp was bad. i pulled all the others and all of them are charred so i must have had a short somewhere. im going to replace all of them tonight and see whats up tomorrow.
