Default HID kit not working on lo beams...works in other car...help?

I purchased a lo/hi beam HID kit and cannot get it to work in my xb. It works on hi beam but not lo. The connections are perfect. We tried the kit in a Civic and it works perfect. Any ideas?

sounds like you might have a blown fuse or fuses. look in the fuse box under the hood and see if any of the headlight fuses are blown then try it again. this happened with my box when i first went to HID but it only happened on one side.

do your regular bulbs still work?

stock headlights work fine...not a blown fuse...i'm going crazy trying to figure this out. i thought maybe it was corrosion so i cleaned the connectors but that wasn't it. any ideas?

im kind of lost, if it works prefectly on the civic it should work on the box, i take it you are testing it on an eg or ek since they are H4 bulbs.

everything i want to tell you to check wont even matter cuz it has already been tested on another car and works and your stocks still work. the only thing i can possibly think is maybe the switch isnt allowing enough power in the low beam setting to allow the ballasts to turn on.

It almost sounds like the stock headlight plug is wired differently that the plug for the HID's If you have a meter check on your stock wiring whit plug has power when the lows are on and which plug has power when the high's are on. Then check which plug on the HIDs go to the Highs. I also found out that if you are using the ebay witing adapter it is wired wrong.
This is an adapter that goes between the stock wiring and the HID wiring.
It is heavier wires one side pluges in to the stock wiring and the other end plugers into the HIDs if you have that take it out and your lights should work, imho you don't need it. If that's not the problem check that you are cetting power out of the hi beam plug, check after the plug closest to the lights.
How this helps and does not muddy the waters.

^^ you can always try that, but if the stock bulbs are working and it is working on a civic then chances are it is wired up correctly.

Thanks for all the responses....I actually went back to the place I got the kit and the guy said that with some cars they reverse the wiring so all he did was unplug the cable that plugs into the ballast and reverse it and it worked fine...

lol I was gonna say when I installed my HID kit I had to reverse the wiring to get it working, but looks like you got it figured out!
