Highway battle
Yes, you read it right. I defeated a Mercury Topaz on the highway tonite. Twice. This guy was sporting a fart can too.
Guess it didn't make enough HP to take the Box. He even tried to give me the ricer flyby and I walked him a second time.
Oh what a feeling!!!
Oh what a feeling!!!
The only car I've been able to beat on the highway was an OLD (probably '88 or '89 with 300,000 miles) CRX.
Fart can, lowered, everything else was stock (I think). He was tailgating me on the 118 fwy, and then tried "fly by", I just floored it and watched his headlights fade into the rearview mirror.
I know he was ____ed. The one new car he thought he could actually beat still smoked his azz
Time for a new car buddy

The only car I have ever raced and beaten, was a disgusting looking Cavalier. This was the biggest poser I have ever seen.
He pulled up to the light and revved his engine, so I revved, back and GREEN, I was gone, I smoked his ___ in a Toaster, he is well done my friends.

"Local law enforcement officers tell Channel 4 News that speeds reached in excess of 23 MPH..."
Actually, when I had a xB for a whole day to test drive it (woohoo!) I never found it to be really that "slow". Considering it has a 108HP engine and is only about 2400 lbs, then looking at when my V8 TBird was stock (215HP @ 3800 lbs.), and the power-to-weight ratio doesn't seem that bad. Sure, it has half the horsepower that my car did stock (it has about 255 HP now), BUT it's almost half the weight, too. Stock, my TBird did 0-60 in about 8.9 seconds, and the box (AT) takes about 10.6, I believe from what I've read.
The point is, it's all relative. The box in actually is not that slow, only against fast cars.

The Speeder
Fascination of speed, the rush to penetrate and distort the steady stream of movement. The vigor to overpass another being, shattering limitations of status and race. The magnificence to roam free within your own fortress. The ability and power to jumpstart emotions of complete strangers, the lust of chaos dominated by your own demand. To pilot your battleship into any harbor, dodging bullets exiting small minds that cannot comprehend. The relentless pursuit to gain momentum just to have another soul disappear on the horizon of your mirror, a soul who has failed to make the vital connection between the posted limit and the numbers displayed on their dashboard. The annoyance of the indecisive, slouched over behind their wheel, blocking the endless flow of traffic. Breakneck calculations of risk and assumptions of behavior occupying the senses as a constant, a sporadic brutal scare caused by oversight jolting your body. The critical monitoring of your surroundings, strategizing the next move, always ahead of the game. The excitement of meeting a worthy opponent, a rival who mastered the art of speed. The ruthless contest fought on the battlegrounds of your mind, your high-tech weapon, like searching steel slicing a passage through the riff-raff, imposing your own interpretations of law and order.
The search for that magic opening in traffic, to repose from the race for a quick moment, rejuvenating. Just to begin another quest to arrive at your destination ahead of yourself, simply to enhance your joy of driving...
